Passwords are secret words, phrases or custom strings of characters used for demonstrating the identity of authorized users.
Passwords can be classified in various categories, including passphrases (when they consist exclusively of words) or passcodes (they are composed only of numbers).
The software applications that offer users the possibility to create strong passwords are generally called password generators.
Users can obtain large strings of characters, such as numbers, letters and/or special symbols. The basic rule is that if a password has a lot of different characters, it is harder to break.
