MSN Messenger has been a very popular instant messaging client for a very long time, and it recently changed its name to Windows Live Messenger.
As it happens with all popular applications, developers soon felt the need for additional features, therefore they created tools that would improve or add functions to MSN Messenger.
These applications can block the advertisements from the main window, provide customized emoticon and smiley packs, or they can even enable users to run multiple instances of the program.
Users will also be able to personalize their display images (commonly known as avatars) and their status messages.
