ASF is an acronym for Advanced Systems Format and it is a Microsoft proprietary container format. It contains several audio and video tracks, and it might also feature metadata (that includes titles, author or copyright).
Just like MOV, AVI and OGG format, ASF does not specify the encoding method and it only defines the video and audio stream structure.
Since ASF container-based media is frequently streamed over the Internet, users often convert their files to ASF.
When users want to create ASF files, they will be able to adjust the bit rate or the audio channel of the source files that will be converted to ASF.
Additionally, one will also have the possibility to specify the output folder and the filename of the resulting ASF track.
