Multiple-image Network Graphics, also known as MNG, is a raster file format that supports animation. It was created as an optimized version of PNG and it was enhanced with indexed colors and animations.
Although MNG files are quite similar to GIF ones, they also feature multi-level transparency and have increased compression.
In order to be able to access MNG images, users will require a specialized graphic viewer.
Some MNG viewers can also be used to convert these files to more popular file formats that are supported by more applications.
