A password manager is a computer application that enables a user to easily organize passwords and any type of PIN or serial codes.
The password manager will store the data in a local or remote database, depending on the software's type or the user's choice (while most programs use the host computer to store the passwords, some apps store all passcodes on an online server).
Most password managers can also integrate in the browsers installed on the user's computer, providing through an extension easy access to the passwords and logins stored and even autofill options for online forms.
These applications will also allow users to generate passwords and to verify their strength.
