When taking photographs, quite frequently, the eyes of people seem to be red and this is called the red-eye effect.
This is due to the fact that the camera flash was too close to the camera lens and the lighting was not powerful enough.
This photography effect can be either prevented, by ensuring proper light when taking pictures, or by using a dedicated software tool.
Currently, there are numerous graphic editors that will diminish this flaw by desaturating the red color.
Red eye removal is a function that is typically integrated within complex graphic editors, but there are also some other software utilities which focus solely on this operation.
