Telnet Client Apps and Alternatives

Typically used on Internet or LANs, telnet is a network protocol based on a virtual terminal connection and meant to provide users with bidirectional interactive text-oriented communications.

In order to function, telnet clients will require a terminal connection and some of them also support terminal sessions.

Most of them usually generate a log file that contains all the details related to the telnet connection.

One could also rely on certain telnet clients to transfer files or to apply encrypted login to the established connections.
