Traceroute is a computer network utility which enables users to trace a network connection from one location to another, recording every node on the way.
When this command is sent, it will display a list of network nodes, specifying the host name and IP address for each of them.
Also, traceroute clients will show the amount of time it needed to connect to each node. This way, it becomes easy to identify the delays or blockages in any network connection.
Traceroute application can help users to understand the reasons behind a slow or unresponsive network connection.
