The Update 6000 contains various enhancements and fixes since the original release of ARCHICAD 22.
CRASH: A beam that intersected with a wall of 0 thickness crashed ARCHICAD.

HOTLINK/CRASH: An associative railing that was linked to a different story than its parent element, placed as hotlink in a way that parent element didn’t fit in host file’s story structure, sometimes caused a crash while updating the hotlink.
HOTLINK/IFC/CRASH: ARCHICAD sometimes within add-ons like Archiframe 22 crashed with hotlinked IFC files.
MODEL/CRASH: ARCHICAD crashed because of a break mark calculation of a malformed railing of a stair.
MODEL/CRASH: ARCHICAD crashed with a stair having drains on both sides with a greater offset value than the entire stair.
MODEL/EDIT: Stairs in a Marquee could not be dragged.

USER INTERFACE: Operation Profiles could not be selected in the list in their settings dialog using the up and down arrow keys of the keyboardThe selection seemed to change with pressing the keys, but the Operation Profile did not get selected.
USER INTERFACE: The 3D texture alignment was not greyed out when the function was not available.
ZOOM: Zooming with track pad on a rotated view not only changes size of object but also offset objects on a spiral path.

New in ArchiCAD 22 Build 3006 (Jul 24, 2018)

Façade Design:
The remastered Façade Design tool provides flexible design environment for architects to create external or internal facades, elevations and surfaces with modular structures and hierarchical, repetitive patterns. Designing and detailing Curtain Walls is not only more accurate but it’s also easier to adherence local requirements for documenting and listing.
Parametric Profile Editor:
The Parametric Profile Editor combines the power of parametric design with the freedom of graphical profile creation. Create more intelligent Profiles for Walls, Beams and Columns, by defining parametric edges in the Profile Editor. This will allow offset individual or multiple edges centrally for the Profile Attribute or at the instance level - either graphically or via element settings.
Expression Defined Property Values:
Architects may benefit from defining complex data-processing expressions for elements. The result can be used in ARCHICAD for tagging or filtering elements, and presented in any graphical, tabular or model output, governed by arithmetic, logical and text handling operations very similar to functions in standard spreadsheet programs.
Performance:
ARCHICAD 22 introduces a smooth and truly responsive panning and zooming navigation experience for 2D views, even in very large projects. ARCHICAD utilizes ultra-high 4K and 5K monitor screen resolution on Microsoft Windows 10 operating systems too, similarly to the retina display on Mac. The representation of fine details of icons, lines, texts and other graphic user interface elements are now produce a much sharper look.
Professional Visualization: CineRender v19 Engine:
ARCHICAD 22 uses Maxon’s latest (R19) CineRender engine and enables architects to utilize professional visualization processes and features without leaving ARCHICAD. Now Tone Mapping, Stereoscopic and 360-degree or spherical renderings can be created.
Custom Graphical Labels:
Select any combination of drawing primitives (lines, arcs, polylines), plus Text Blocks (including Element-related Autotexts), then save and use them as a Label.
IFC Import and Export enhancements:
ARCHICAD supports the import of geometry representation of double-curved, complex geometry elements, the non-uniform rational basis splines (NURBS) from IFC4 files. Properties and quantities of components (composite skins, complex profiles, multibody object parts) can be exported for quantity take-off and cost estimation applications.
Updated Attribute Manager dialog:
The Attribute Manager dialog has been re-engineered to work faster and more reliably. New features include: instant search of Attributes of the left and/or right side and when switching between Tabs; delete and replace functionality now works directly; Layers and Layer Combinations merged into a single Tab, allowing Layer states to be edited across multiple selected Layer Combinations; support for editing of multiple Attributes simultaneously.
Updated Model View Options dialog:
The Model View Options dialog has been redesigned, to match the layout of other dialogs, with the following changes: MVO Combinations and the Search field are now on the left side of the dialog; ‘Store as’ and ‘Rename’ functions have been removed; Panels on the right side of the dialog have been reorganized and simplified; during migration, previous “Custom” Sets used by project views will become automatically named MVO Combinations.
Updated ARCHICAD-Grasshopper Connection Tool:
Thanks to the latest development ARCHICAD’s enhanced Curtain Wall feature set is fully accessible from Grasshopper. Designers may start assembling Curtain Wall Patterns using any set of 2D lines as well as manage all sub-elements on the Grasshopper Canvas and create astonishing facades in ARCHICAD using algorithmic design definitions.

Also, Rhino files can be imported into ARCHICAD as an Object, so the new command directly imports Rhino models into ARCHICAD’s Embedded Library as a GDL Object. This command replaces the "Rhino-GDL Converter" add-on, released for ARCHICAD 18, 19 and 20.

New Stair and Railing Tools:
Designing stairs is one of the most complex tasks in architecture, since the stair must comply with stringent standards. The countless iterations required to sync design intent with these standards in a specific building has meant tedious, manual work – up until now. The new Stair Tool in ARCHICAD 21 extends architects’ creativity with automatic validation against human ergonomics — on the fly. In other words, ARCHICAD’s algorithms validate thousands of design options in the background and offer architects the most optimal stair designs to choose from within the context of the specific building.
With ARCHICAD 21’s next-gen Stair Tool, architects can jump right into the creative process: placing stairs with simple polyline input and choosing from various design options. If a problem can be solved in a variety of ways, the software offers a selection of the best options that fit both the user’s graphical input and the chosen standards. Intuitive graphical methods allow users to easily tweak the stair’s shape and to customize structural and finish components. As for the Railing Tool, one-click input creates an instant associative railing along stairs or other building elements, whose posts and panels can be assigned as patterns, or customized individually.
Updated CineRender Engine:
CineRender by MAXON offers architects integrated, photo-realistic rendering options in the BIM context. The latest version introduces Light Mapping and Secondary GI methods for more realistic, yet fast rendering.
Element Classification System:
An ARCHICAD model can be described as a central BIM database that stores all project data and makes it accessible to any project stakeholder. While previous ARCHICAD versions provided a fixed set of Element Classifications, ARCHICAD 21 introduces a flexible way to classify elements supporting any national or company-standard classification system. In addition, classifications are core to intelligent OPEN BIM workflows, providing unprecedented interoperability among disciplines. Classifications can be transferred between projects via XML file format.
IFC Model Referencing:
Place IFC files as hotlinks into ARCHICAD projects as protected reference content. Model Filtering narrows the inserted IFC reference content by categories, such as Structural or MEP, or by element selection. The inserted IFC model content can be updated easily from the linked source file. If the link is broken, elements of the inserted IFC modules can be edited as regular ARCHICAD elements.
Collision Detection:
With the evolution of BIM as the de facto workflow, architects increasingly receive consultant information in a BIM format. To help architects fulfill their role as lead coordinator of the model, Collision Detection becomes a standard part of the feature set starting with ARCHICAD 21.
