Artlantis Studio Changelog

What's new in Artlantis Studio 2021 9.5.2.32351

Jul 29, 2022
  • IFC Import:
  • Artlantis 2021 enters the world of Open BIM! Known and recognized for its almost universal accounting, Artlantis 21 now imports the IFC format. This new performance, concerning the model’s geometry only, allows the Artlantis user to receive any model from an interlocutor using a modeler other than their own and, if necessary, to modify the design directly in their own working tool.
  • LUTs:
  • Artlantis 2021 integrates LUTs, filters for modifying colorimetry and contrast in order to create a particular atmosphere or correct images in the preview and the final rendering.Artlantis 2021 offers a range of these filters by default. Should users wish to use any custom filter, they can import their preferred LUTs, which are available on various websites as free or licensed .CUBE files.
  • Easy Interface:
  • With Artlantis 2021, you can choose the interface: the one offered by default or the new Easy interface. More refined in terms of settings, it has many predefined values and allows you to modify the settings by level such as “high, medium or low”, for example. This approach makes it easier to understand settings, simplifies and speeds up scene-setting. Advanced users or beginners, all can use it according to their habits, their technical knowledge or their preferences.
  • MediaStore:
  • With Artlantis 2021, Abvent launches a brand new MediaStore. Completely redesigned both in terms of search engine and ergonomics, its benefits are obvious:
  • Clearer and more readable interface
  • Faster navigation
  • Faster and simpler media search (tag system)
  • Direct access via the internet using an AbventID account

New in Artlantis Studio 6.5.2.11 (Feb 14, 2017)

  • What’s New—Artlantis 6.5:
  • There are some big new items of importance in this update, including the new Render Manager. Similar to Artlantis’ previous ‘batch render’ feature, Render Manager allows users to launch the calculation of images, panoramas, and animations on their own computers and have them batch to other computers on the local network for accelerated rendering. This update, in other words, provides render slave app that you install on either Mac or Windows computers on your network for distributed network rendering. The best part is Artlantis 6.5 delivers this with an unlimited number of render nodes for free.
  • The real-time Preview window now works in ‘draft’ mode. Users have the option between a preview window set to display speed or high definition accuracy. This new feature helps users iterate much faster—as does the distributed network rendering.
  • Twinmotion Export:
  • Abvent acquired Twinmotion last year (see, Architosh, “Twinmotion developer KA-RA has joined the Abvent Group,” 19 April 2016) and it was only a matter of time, and release, that Artlantis featured a direct connection to the noteworthy interactive rendering tool. Users can now export directly to the Twinmotion file format (.tma).
  • Twinmotion is a leading and award-winning interactive rendering software where the focus is on life-like interactivity and motion, not visual fidelity. In Twinmotion 2016, the current version, users can bring trees to life, model and arrange compelling scenes with moving people, trees, and backgrounds.
  • The other new big feature with version 6.5 is the physical sky. New realistic clouds are integrated into the physical sky, while ‘God rays’ effect is now visible behind glass surfaces.

New in Artlantis Studio 5.0.2.1 (Sep 10, 2013)

  • A new logo and new facets of the Artlantis revolution start moving around a redesigned interface, an integrated media store and optimized functions !
  • With version 5, Artlantis's updates vividly proclaim: "Ergonomics, Simplicity, and Quality" for photo-realistic renderings for everyone! Raise the curtain and discover the world through this window, which reveals, in real-time and in full radiosity, your imagination and our reputation.
  • Interface:
  • Times change, hardware evolves, and the Artlantis interface has changed, too. To take advantage of the benefits a wider screen has to offer, the Artlantis 5 interface has been completely redesigned. Artlantis 5 optimizes the project’s display, and offers an even larger preview size. Artlantis 5 makes it easier and more comfortable than ever to work on your projects: standardized on MacOS and Windows, Artlantis 5‘s interface is based on a single clear window, adjustable and easy-to-use. With its inspectors grouped at the top of the screen, the working window is more readable - displaying on the fly or permanently, depending on your preference, the lists on the left and catalog at the bottom of the screen. As a result, the number of clicks needed to access the desired feature has been considerably reduced !
  • To meet your own needs and work habits, Artlantis 5 offers a new option to filter the list to optimize the content.
  • Perspectives:
  • Artlantis 5 offers new features to your perspectives: each point of view now has its own infinite ground with altitude and material, as well as background and foreground images. Handling, re-sizing and adjusting backgrounds and foregrounds is easier than ever in this new version. Artlantis 5 also introduces a new function particularly useful for high vertical projects: the Architect camera. This option displays the project in two vanishing points only to obtain real verticals.
  • Finally, Artlantis 5 offers better visibility of your project in the 2D view thanks to a sectional cut at the height of the camera and the display of textures.
  • Media:
  • Using the new media catalog is fast and efficient. Its organization into categories (icons) and subcategories (titles) allows you to choose in mere seconds the right media for your project. For better use of your workspace, the catalog window can be moved independently on your second screen if you use one.
  • Taking advantage of the new catalog, Artlantis 5 includes new shaders. Some are optimized with additional parameters like relief mapping to better simulate the depths of surfaces. In addition, non-repetitive tiling shaders and multi-texture natural shaders simulate natural surfaces like ground, grass, and water.
  • The Artlantis 5 revolution would not be complete without the InApp Media Store offering more than 5,000 objects and shaders of all kinds for purchase. Enrich your catalog at any time by logging in and downloading new media that are automatically placed in the correct categories and subcategories of your catalog. Artlantis 5 includes a media converter application. Users of previous versions can convert their own library or previously purchased Artlantis Media CDs.
  • Preview Controller:
  • Handling shaders or simple textures in the preview or in the 2D window is easy. A preview controller allows you to move, resize, and rotate shaders and textures. A simple keyboard shortcut is all it takes to snap a shader or texture to the geometry automatically.
  • Just like shaders and textures, objects are handled with the same ease in the preview or in the 2D view. Rotate, move, resize or duplicate … everything is optimized! The objects can also be snapped onto edges.
  • Light:
  • Editing lights in the 2D view or in the preview? Thanks to the new ’vertical guides’ in Artlantis 5, lighting can be edited quickly and easily in both windows. It allows you to position the direction and fall-off of a single light or of a selection of lights right in the 3D space.
  • Last but not least, Artlantis 5 simulates the volumetric effect of a light by adding a cone of light at each spot in your scene.
  • Heliodon:
  • Starting with Artlantis 5, the manual heliodon can be set easier than ever by adjusting the angles for zenith and azimuth right in the Inspector.
  • Like the lights, the volumetric effect of the rays of light, or ‘God rays’, can be added in post-process in the heliodon settings. To give you greater freedom in image reprocessing, these effects are recorded in specific layers when exporting in PSD.
  • iVisit 3D:
  • In addition to panoramas, Artlantis 5 and iVisit 3D allow you to create VR Objects! The iVisit 3D Player has been upgraded to open up new horizons in creativity. The display quality of iVisit 3D panoramas and VR Objects is better than ever -- whether you’re viewing on a website or on a mobile device. For unlimited sharing, a new Android application is now available on Google Play, in addition to that from the AppStore.
  • To improve your experience using multi-node panoramas, iVisit 3D now offers two navigation methods: 1) keep the point of view of the direction you’re moving in, or 2) choose the default view of each node. The navigation thumbnails precisely represent each point of view. Setting your iVisit 3D panoramas, you can now navigate between the nodes directly in the preview.
  • Animation:
  • The Artlantis Studio 5 Timeline has been optimized to ensure precise control of all events and movements associated with your animations. Each animated parameter is now presented as a track and as a hierarchical list…With magnetic guides, the key frame will snap automatically and graphically, ensuring a fluid connection and simplified synchronization of sequences. Finally, to enhance your animation, new, high-definition 3D characters are available for sale in the Media Store.
