New in Bongiovi DPS Plugin 2.2.0.15 (Aug 28, 2018)
- Here is an overview of the changes:
- V3D spatial audio for headphones:
- When in Headphone listening mode, you may now enable V3D audio processing. This effect moves the sound “outside of your head” for a more immersive experience for all audio sources (not just games). Moving the circles in the STEREO FIELD controls changed the V3D mode. This effect has been specially calibrated for profiles in the generic gaming category and for custom gaming headset profiles. However, V3D may be enabled for all existing headphone profiles. When in Built-in or External speaker listening modes, the V3D controls operate as before using our Dynamic Stereo Enhancement algorithm for speakers:
- Redesigned profile selection user flow – You will notice the PROFILES and SETTINGS tabs have swapped places. Selection of audio profiles is now much easier by following the 3 step selection menus on the PROFILES tab
- We suggest playing music in the background when making your profile selection. When you mouse-over the profile in the PROFILE menu, you will hear the sound of that profile and see a more complete description on the pop-up window. After you find the profile you like, click APPLY to save your selection. You can manage your profiles and output devices as before in the SETTINGS tab.
- Check out the new Gaming and Virtual Reality categories as well as the custom profiles for various popular gaming headsets on the market.
- Subscription Purchasing AND existing license keys – We decided to move to a subscription-based payment system because it is more flexible for our new customers and enables our continuing development of new features and profiles in the future. We will continue to honor our existing customers’ licenses.
- In the ACTIVATION tab:
- If you are an existing customer and wish to activate, enter your email into the email field and your license key into the password field. Click Activate. Bongiovi DPS will detect your license key and activate accordingly.
- If you are a new subscription customer, enter your email and the password you used to purchase your subscription. Click Activate. Your subscription will be used to activate the software. If your subscription lapses, the Bongiovi DPS will return to the deactivated state.
- Virtual Subwoofer:
- Virtual Subwoofer (VSUB) has been around as a feature of DPS audio processing for years. However, we have recently made changes to the algorithm to support the needs of smaller speakers. Examples of this feature for each listening mode may be found in the Bongiovi Acoustics category in the PROFILES tab.
- New Skins:
- We have added a few new themes. Switching skins is now faster and does not require restart in Windows.
- Lots of small fixes:
- Version 2.2 was a big update so we collected all of your feedback of 2.1 over the past year to incorporate into this version.
