March 23rd, 2012· You can now automatically organize external image files into a folder structure and filename format of your choice based on information in the database. To use this feature, choose 'Auto-Organize Image Files' from the Tools menu.
· The folder and filename setup used by the 'Auto-Organize Image Files' function is also automatically used if you have chosen to link to external image files: When you download images from the Internet, when you paste an image into the image field or drag an image from the web browser, and when you use the 'Extract images' feature. To edit this setup, choose Tools=>Options=>Multimedia, then click the 'Images/Filename setup' button.
· If BookCAT is unable to locate external image files because you have moved the files, you can use the new 'Locate Missing Image Files' function available on the Tools menu. This will scan the specified drive/folder and attempt to locate the missing image files.
· Updated the 'Extract images', 'Load external images' and 'Cleanup image folder' functions to support the new features.

April 26th, 2008· Data Entry: Memo: Pasting data copied from a web site into a memo field now works better. First of all, the text formatting is preserved (as long as your web browser copies the text to the clipboard as RTF - which Internet Explorer does). In addition, all hyperlinks should now always work, and images are also pasted into the memo field.
· Query Internet: Previously, when loading a list of ISBNs, the program would automatically reject an ISBN that already existed in the database or was invalid. Now the program will add these ISBNs to the list and set the status to either "Ready (Duplicate)" or "Ready (Invalid ISBN"). If you want to automatically delete these ISBNs you can do so from the Book menu.
· Images: When storing book cover images externally, you can now choose if you want to base the filename on the book title, both the author and the title, or the ISBN. You set this up under Tools->Options->Multimedia.
· Export: You can now export data to HomeBase v2.3. This is useful if you sell books via abebooks.com.
· Explorer: The keywords field now displayed in the preview pane.
· FIXED: Import Text: Problem importing GIF and PNG images.

March 5th, 2007· Upgraded development system to Delphi 2006 and replaced two of the 3rd party libraries. This gives a nice performance boost of up to 30-40%, especially everything involving XML and XSL (explorer module, export to HTML and export to XML).
· BookCAT now fully supports Windows Vista.
· Added support for ClearType text rendering.
· Updated menu/toolbar system. You can change the theming under Tools->Options->Misc->Menu/toolbar theme. The default theme is "Office 2003". If you would like to use the same theme as in the previous version, select "Office XP".
· BookCAT can now act as an OLE Automation Server (power users only!). By calling two methods you can generate XML and HTML files respectively. For more information, see the FAQ.
· Query Internet: Improved support for ISBN-13. You can set various ISBN conversion options in the 'Query Internet - Update' window (automatically convert ISBN-10 to ISBN-13, and retry with (ISBN-13 if ISBN-10 query fails, and vice versa).
· Query Internet: Publication Place is now available on the Details tab.
· Increased length of Person.Alias field from 50 to 150 characters.
· Data Entry: Lookup View: You can now update the 'Sort by' field for all selected records (choose Update 'Sort by' from the Lookup menu).
