  • Styles: The content of this folder will be installed in the Styles and Presets Tool
  • Style Brushes: The content of this folder will be installed in the Style Brushes Tool
  • You can create additional folders inside the two folders to organize the Styles and Style Brushes in the tools. Pack these two folders into a zip file, and rename the extension from ‘.zip’ to ‘.costylepack’.

  • When using Auto Keystone, the Guides are now placed according to where Capture One detects lines used for the correction instead of placing them at generic positions.
  • Preview size recommendation:
  • When using a preview size that is smaller than the monitor resolution, performance will be impacted. Capture One will in this case always use the raw file instead of the preview when displaying edits. This will increase the rendering time in the viewer for displaying both the image itself and the adjustments that are being applied.
  • To ensure optimal performance, the preview size will automatically be set to match the system setting when launching Capture One for the first time as a new user. For all users, additional information has been added to the Preview Preferences for better clarity of the optimal setting.

New in Capture One 10.0 Build 10.0.0.225 (Dec 22, 2016)

  • Performance focused re-write for faster viewing experience:
  • Operations all over the app for have been re-written for snappier performance when viewing and working with images: Caching of images, reduction in drawing latency and frame rates for adjustments are all improved.
  • New! 3-phase sharpening tools:
  • Capture One breaks up the old work flow of sharpening images in Capture One into three stages. Input, (Deconvolution sharpening), Creative, (from user input depending on content) and Output (based on the desired final medium/size/print media).
  • Input sharpening: “Diffraction correction” is a check box in the lens tool - it will automatically apply correction if the image suffers from blurring due to the side effects of diffraction limited optics. Note: processing time increases when this is adjustment is enabled.
  • Creative sharpening: This is the input from the user made with either the sharpening tool, or the sharpening tools as part of local adjustments. Radius, Threshold and the new Halo Suppression sliders can all now be used in local adjustments, in combination with (and independent of) the Background.
  • Output sharpening: In the adjustments tab of each recipe the user can define the output sharpening. To optimize, enable Proofing (see below) and adjust to required amount. For print sharpening, the user can also specify the distance the final output image should be viewed from.
  • Output Proofing:
  • Output proofing enables the user to imitate the final size, resolution, color and sharpening in the viewer as defined in the recipe. This is especially useful for outputting small files for web and optimizing compression quality as Jpeg compression artifacts can also be simulated. Press the glasses icon on the tool bar to see the simulated output based on the active recipe.
  • Halo Suppression:
  • The sharpening tool has an additional parameter which reduces the visible side effect of “halos” when sharpening amount is used aggressively.
  • New! Video panel Hardware support for Tangent systems
  • Using a special new control layer decoupled from the UI, Capture One’s interface can be controlled by Tangent wave panel systems for the ultimate analogue control over your digital darkroom. Inspired by video grading applications, the implementation takes advantage of the Tangent Mapper SDK, exposing over 460 properties. These can be mapped in almost infinite configuration. See http://www.tangentwave.co.uk for hardware vendors.
  • Requires the “Tangent Hub” application to be installed in order to use supported hardware. See http://www.tangentwave.co.uk/capture-one/ for supporting software.
  • Default Workspace:
  • The default space has been simplified for a cleaner first time experience. Changes from 9 default are listed below:
  • The lens tool now is immediately after capture to reflect lens corrections are done (in some cases automatically) after the image is created. It is also where the first of the 3-phases of sharpening is applied (Diffraction Correction (if required)).
  • Composition tab is removed and crop tools moved to the lens tab (it is still available as an option and can be added if required)
  • The new focus tool is inserted in the Camera tab and Live view window Tool bar has been cleaned up to remove some clutter and re-ordered slightly New proof mode is inserted on the tool-bar (Pro/Pro (for Sony) Only) Browser is set to the right
  • Uncollapsing of some tools to aid discovery
  • Camera Focus tool:
  • The camera tool now includes a focus tool module for tethered cameras. Some functionality is only available for specific hardware. See the table below for supported functions.
  • New! Filter for orientation of images:
  • A new filter type for orientation is added to allow the user to filter by orientation (portrait, landscape and square). This filter respects the crop if applied.
  • OPTIMIZED:
  • Jpeg Output for Size/Quality:
