· Previously when viewing large disks, for example 2 TBs, the disk properties dialog truncated the "Bytes" units thus only showing the size in bytes without the units. This bug has been fixed.
· Previously the export to CSV saved the file to a UTF8 file format. In order for Microsoft Excel to automatically load the output CSV file the file format must be ASCII. The software has been updated to save to either ASCII or Unicode if explicitly requested.

June 11th, 2011· Previously the service may have failed to start after a reboot if the Cryptographic Service was slow to start. According to Microsoft this occurs because the service binary is digitally signed. The solution Microsoft has provided to the community is to exclude code signing from all Windows Services. The service binary is no longer signed.

May 26th, 2010· Several customers had notified us that their SMART status monitor were
· randomly returning success and error results for the same disk. The following errors were possible: "Unable to retrieve logical disk" or "Object reference not set to an instance of an object". The behavior is absolutely unexpected. We wrote a test application to call WMI on a remote computer from various threads at the same time and reproduced the error. Apparently WMI can return nondeterministic results. We don't know of any way around this WMI bug, however, after adding a single simple retry we seem to always get the expected results. Long story short, we added a retry to the SMART status monitor.
· Previously uses were only able to schedule our Duplicate Files Report. Users can now run Duplicate Files Reports on demand. Once run a the report is displayed within the user interface.

May 6th, 2010· Previously directory scans were bypassing directories with the
· "NotContentIndexed" attribute set. This exclusion was included to stop
· recursive scans into the "Application Data" directory present within Server
· 2008 and Vista. Bypassing directories with this attribute caused the
· "Program Data" directory on Server 2008 to be bypassed. We have switched
· the application to bypass directories with the "ReparsePoint" tag instead.
· Using this tag appears to resolve both issues.
· Previously the {HOST} and {PATH} tags were not replaced when used within
· the Subject field of a Disk or Directory Summary Email Report. This bug
· has been resolved.

· Previously when the service scanned a directory for size, if the path exceeded the maximum length allowed in Windows the scan halted. The scan now logs the error and continues.

December 5th, 2009· Previously when generating extension and last accessed reports a path too long exception was thrown when retrieving information from paths that were too long. The exception caused the scan to halt. The scan now logs the issue and continues scanning.
August 26th, 2009· The directory monitor now enables users to monitor the number of files contained within a directory structure. To monitor the number of files within a directory structure, right click on the directory and select Directory Monitor Wizard. Navigate to the Warning or Critical tabs. Set the option to monitor the number of files. The email HTML template has been updated to include the number of files within the directory. If using text based emails or message box alerts, open the Actions Manager and reset the content by clicking on the Default button. Doing so will add the file count to the message. If firing another type of alert you can add the tag to the alert to see the number of files contained within the directory structure.

September 15th, 2008· The directory monitor now saves size information to a history file. The history file is used to populate a graph and can also be emailed to other users. To view the graph right click on the directory and select Properties.

June 3rd, 2008· SMART Disk Monitor now includes an option to receive notification when a directory size changes size between disk checks. To monitor a directory for size changes, from the Monitored Disks tree node within the Network view, navigate to the directory of interest. Right click and select Directory Monitor Wizard. Users can set both warning and critical thresholds.
· The service log view now offers filter capability. To view this new functionality, select Service Log from the View menu item.
May 13th, 2008· System administrators can now create a single directory summary email report that includes directory and sub-directory size information from multiple sources. This function is ideal when attempting to verify disk content has been properly replicated to another disk. To create a directory summary report, create a disk monitor for each disk the target directory resides. Next navigate to the directory from the Monitored Disks tree node from within the Network view, highlight the directory, right click and select Directory Monitor Wizard. Complete and close the wizard (you can de-select all options if you do not need to monitor the directory size). Select Directory Summary Reports from the Tools menu item. Create a new report and complete the wizard.
May 5th, 2008· System administrators can now monitor directories for file changes, file creations, file deletions, and file renames. Upon detecting a change, a message can be written to a file or an email notification fired. The file monitor includes support for multiple filename filter masks as well as multiple filename exclusion masks.

September 24th, 2007· Access permissions reports now provide the user with the option to validate each returned user against Active Directory. The result is that reports are limited to real domain users. All internal local system accounts are removed from the report.

July 13th, 2007· Users can now create reports that recurse a drive, share, or directory and list either the last X number of files that have been accessed or the first 10,000 files that have not been accessed since a date.

· In previous builds, the Configuration Wizard enabled users to assign the template from the Intro or Disks selection page. If no disks had been selected, the template assignment did nothing. The template buttons are now disabled on the Intro and Disks selection page.
· When adding new monitors the Monitored Disks tree node was previously refreshed sometimes causing the disk query window to open and query all disks. This behavior has been modified so new monitors are simply added to the list.
· When deleting all monitors from a logical group, the group is now automatically removed.
