Task Manager:
· The new "Task Manager" feature allows by right clicking one or several computers to manage services, devices and processes.For example you can start with a single action several services, or change their startup type.

· Filter: list of computers
· A filter based on a list of machines (NetBIOS names, IP addresses or IP address range) can now be applied in the main view.

System information:
· "Video Card" and "Network card" properties were not correctly retrieved for some configurations.

Windows 8:
· Windows 8 computer type is now supported in the main view, in filters and in the "Computer properties" window.

User-friendly and intuitivity:
· The wheel click on a tab in the main view closes it, like in the Internet browsers.

Search in lists:
· A new window allows you to search for information in the Computers, Users, VPN and Favorites lists. You can search for part or whole text or also the beginning / the end of a text. The search can be case sensitive
· The search window can be opened by clicking on the "Search" button or by right clicking a column header then "Search"

Remote Desktop:
· It is now possible to define configurations for the Remote Desktop: "Tools" menu, "Remote Desktop Settings". You can enter for example the user's name and password so that this session will be automatically opened on the remote host when remote controlling, or also set the screen resolution that will be applied
· A specific configuration can be used by right clicking one or more computers, then "Taking remote control", "Remote control with the configuration", from the "Remote control" group, then choose the right configuration

TightVNC:
· You can force the use of a TightVNC configuration: right click one or more computers, then "Taking remote control", "Remote control with the configuration", from the "TightVNC" group, then choose the right configuration

Browser view:
· Improvement of the usability in the left view: a tab system allows to list your network, your computer, your VPN objects, your Favorites and your Tools

"Google" search:
· New "Search on Google" option added in the menus of the services, processes, software, hotfixes and licenses windows. This option allows you to automatically search for this information on the Google search engine

Database Inventory:
· IDEAL Administration now integrates the display of the database tables (MS Access or SQL Server) : Inventory menu, View Database. Therefore it is no more necessary to install MS Access to read the result of the various inventories.
· Possibility of applying a filter (a SQL query) on a table to refine the result set. This query can be created via the query wizard or it can be manually written for an advanced use or for more specific needs.

Export lists to HTML format:
· In addition to CSV format, data of a list can be now exported to a table via an HTML report.

TightVNC:
· Some modifications regarding the management of the TightVNC rule in the Windows firewall.

What's new in IDEAL Administration 12.1:

Computers tab:
· New icon on a computer that means access denied due to insufficient rights.
· The "red cross" icon still means that the computer is not visible in the Windows Network Neighborhood and is not reachable.
· New icon displayed when the connection to the remote registry fails.
· Tooltips have been added on these icons.
· You can now quickly hide/configure the display of properties in the list by right clicking a column header.
· Load time of computers has been improved.

Application Center:
· You can display the properties of a software, hotfix, license by double clicking an item in the list, or via right click then "Properties".
· You can scroll between the "Properties" cards, using "Previous / Next" buttons.
· A drop-down list has been added to filter the display of hotfixes and licenses.

Application Center:
· The new "Application Center" feature allows by right clicking one or several computers to list installed software, hotfixes, and licenses.
· The "Software licenses" tab lists product keys, product ID, the company and the registered user, for Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange, IDEAL Administration, IDEAL Remote, IDEAL Migration, ...
· The result can by filtered by operating system.
· This information can be exported to a CSV file.

Database Logging:
· Recording of logs in database when an event triggers: Launch/Shutdown of the program, TightVNC Remote control, Remote desktop (TSE), Recording of the activation key.
· The configuration can be found in "Tools" menu, "Options", "Logging".

TightVNC remote control:
· Translation of the TightVNC 2.X Viewer.

Management of Shortcuts and VPN objects:
· When adding a Shortcuts or VPN object, (right click on a computer, domain, user group, organizational unit, ...), a dialog box allows to quickly select the destination folder.

User-friendly and intuitivity:
· Main view of the software: addition of a button allowing to export in a CSV file the domain computers, the "Shortcuts" or "VPN" objects, or the Tools.

· TightVNC Remote control
· Remote control tool now integrates version 2.X of TightVNC which is fully compatible and optimized for latest OS including Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7.
· This new version offers a better reliability and performance with these systems, and considerably increases display speed when remote controlling. It is also possible to open / close / change a user session without cutting the connection.
· 64-bit OS support.
· This new version allows obviously to remote control your Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 computers.
· Reduction of conflicts with various VNC servers (UltraVNC, RealVNC, ...) that may be installed on remote computers.
· The previous version of TightVNC remote control (version 1.X) is kept for compatibility reasons with Windows NT 4.0.
· Possibility of creating/modify/remove or enable/disable a TightVNC 2.X and/or TightVNC 1.X configuration.
· Possibility to define the configurations to be used by order of priority.
· Possibility of arranging and ordering authorization rules (accept, reject, query) for a TightVNC 2.X configuration.
· It is possible to encapsalute data and the TightVNC communication using the "Zebedee" tunneling.
· The password required for TightVNC remote control can be now memorized ("Connection" tab). Doing this, you will not have to manually authenticate each time you launch the remote control.

What's new in IDEAL Administration 11.4:

Database Inventory:
· New way of functioning : the data present in database are not automatically deleted when launching the next inventory. This allows to progressively populate your tables by updating the data retrieved on you computers selection. If a computer is unreachable at this precise time, the field "Last_Connection_Failure" indicates the date and time at which the connection error occurs.
· If needed, the data of tables can be deleted by clicking on the button designed for that purpose.
· New "Network drives" inventory.

Terminal Services Sessions:
· The new "Terminal Services Sessions" option allows by right clicking one or several computers to list current console and/or RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) sessions.
· Possibility to disconnect a user / close a session / shutdown or restart a computer by using Terminal Services features.
· This window can also be opened from the dialog box "Shutdown a computer" in order to check for running user sessions before stopping the machine.

Network drives:
· New "Network drive" tab in the computer's properties dialog box (right click on a computer, then "Properties").
· Possibility to list network drives of currently logged in users on the remote computer, to create, remove, rename, explore, open, or export into a .csv file the network drives.

Tabs:
· New options on your Computers/VPN/Shortcuts/FAQ/Forum/Internet tabs, allowing to refresh all the tabs, close all the other tabs, or automatically rearrange (grouping them by type then doing an alphabetical sort).

Computer menu:
· Find your options "Logon as ...", "Send a message", "Ping", "Shutdown", "Remove from domain", ... by right clicking a computer, then "Tools on \\Computer" menu.

"Shortcuts" / "VPN" tab:
· "Shortcuts" and "VPN" can be displayed in the right view through the tabs systems, allowing for example a quick access to your workstations, servers, printers ...

Message sending:
· "Netsend" tool is no more available starting with Windows Vista. It is now possible to send a message to a Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 or Windows 7 computer, by selecting on or more active sessions.
· User-friendly interface.

Services / Devices management:
· The startup type "Automatic (delayed start)" has been added. This setting is available for remote computers running Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 or Windows 7

Remote control:

Authentication:
· Active Directory: AD authentication information (account / password) can be defined by domain / Active Directory servers (Tools menu, Options, Active Directory).
· WMI: WMI authentication information (account / password) can be defined by domain (Tools menu, Options, WMI).

Database Exporter:
· "Multi-threading" implementation in order to optimize and speed up database exports, in particular when several target computers are processed.
· "Events" inventory : custom event logs can be exported.
· "Organizational unites" / "User groups": the type of exported object (computer, user, contact ...) is now defined.
· User-friendly interface.

Remote control:
· Remote control (through TightVNC or TSE) can be launched simultaneously when selecting several computers.
· Setting added to automatically enable SAS (Secure Attention Sequence) when remote controlling with TightVNC (Tools menu, Options..., TightVNC Settings, Security tab, Enable Secure Attention Sequence. Enabling this setting allows to send "CTRL + ALT + DEL" sequence on the remote host.

Security Center:
· The security center manages to protect computers on your network.
· You can access the properties and configure Windows Firewall, add/modify/delete rules, or configure User Account Control (UAC).

WMI:
· It is now possible to display any property of a WMI class in the right view or in the left view : Tools menu, Options, Displayed properties.
· WMI classes added manually in the WMI configuration (Tools menu, Options, WMI, Configure) can be exported to database with the Database Exporter tool. Database Exporter is used to configure and program exports to databases (Inventory menu, Database Exporter).
· Contacts management (Active Directory) : contacts from AD are displayed in the container "Domain users" in the left view, and in the users list in the right view. You can add/modify/delete a contact.
· Hotfixes management : hotfixes installed on a Windows Vista, Windows 2008 Server or Windows 7 computer can be displayed : Right click on a computer, Properties, Hotfixes tab. Exporting hotfixes in database has also been fixed.

· IDEAL Administration has been freshed up! The new tabs system enables to simultaneous display several views over your domain(s). You can also display other kinds of tabs, in order to quickly reach our online FAQ, our forum, or a web site.
· Your tabs are automatically saved and restored when running again IDEAL Administration.
· The tabs system can be easily set and can be accessed from the Tools menu, Options, Tabs.

TightVNC 1.3.9.8 (Remote control tool):

Remote control (TightVNC):
· User name displayed in the title bar of the TightVNC Viewer during a session on the remote host, as well as the remote host's IP address.
· User's wallpaper restored at the end of remote control. Wallpaper removal (gaining speed) can be configured under Tools, Options..., TightVNC Settings, Security tab, Remove wallpaper.
· NetBIOS computer name and user name displayed, as well as the IP address, when remote control authorization is requested. This makes it possible to be much more explicit when authorization is requested. These display options can be fully customized (by default, only the NetBIOS name and IP address will be displayed). · IDEAL Administration now manages Windows SQL Server and stores database inventories directly on this type of servers. To do this, you must create an SQL server user data source using the ODBC data source administrator and configure it in IDEAL Administration: Tools menu, Options..., Database

What's new in IDEAL Administration 8.0:

· Remote Command Prompt. It is now possible to run the MS-DOS command prompt on remote computers, by right-clicking on the computer, then selecting Command Prompt. When logging in, you can configure the user account as well as the default directory: File menu > Configuration > Command Prompt.
· Domain computer filtering based on operating system, Organizational Unit, or computer name. This function allows you, for example, a right view list of only the servers and workstations in a particular Organizational Unit. These filters can be configured by domain and are saved on exiting the program. To configure the filters: click on the icon (right view).
· Management of WMI Methods that allow the modification and reading of WMI Classes. Now you can rename a PC remotely, change the network configuration, create a process, etc. To do this, select the WMI Properties of a PC, right-click on a property of the list, and choose whichever method you prefer.
· Display of the NetBIOS Comment, Active Directory Comment and Role properties on the left and right views. You can change the display order of these new properties by using the File > Configuration > Displayed Properties tab. They are displayed by default at the end of the list.
