New in MAGIX Music Maker Plus 2016 22.0.1.51 (Oct 30, 2015)

  • New sounds and loops:
  • As usual, there is a brand new sound archive with various styles ranging from "trendy" to "retro".
  • New synthesizers:
  • This version also contains new Vita Solo Instruments: The Accordion lends itself well to all types of traditional and folk music. Cinematic gives you big movie sounds, such as mystical soundscapes, ambient tones and atmospheric sound effects ranging from dark to mysterious. MAGIX Music Maker 2016 Live also features Folk, which contains instruments such as a banjo and a honky tonk piano, and Choir for conducting angelic female and male-voiced choirs.
  • Improved Vita Sampler:
  • The Vita Sampler provides a simple instrument for jamming and remixing all kinds of audio loops. It can automatically split up an audio file to be played on eight pads or using the keys on your keyboard. In the improved version of the Vita Sampler, you can move loop borders and lock individual pads for the randomize feature.
  • Improved automation for Vita Solo instruments:
  • Vita 2 and MAGIX Vita Solo Synthesizer now contain useful pre-defined assignments with MIDI controllers which allow you to automate the most important parameters in a MIDI object. These controllers are optimized for the Novation Launchkey mini keyboard contained in the MAGIX Music Maker 2016 Control Bundle.
  • New effects interface:
  • The MAGIX Music Maker 2016 effects for objects, tracks and master now have a new, uniform interface. The object effects dialogs have been completed integrated into the Inspector. It's also now possible to use more than two plug-ins per effects rack.
  • Screen Keyboard Scale Mode:
  • The new screen keyboard Scale Mode enables you to hit the right note every time, even if you can't play piano. In this mode, instead of normal piano keys, you are given colored buttons which only contain the notes belonging to a certain scale. Various European and exotic scales are available to use.
  • Improved harmony editing in the pitch bar:
  • The pitch bar now displays the standard harmony symbols, instead of the Soundpool pitches. It's now also possible to use any major or minor key. An intelligent algorithm finds the right combination of pitch shifting and a selection of matching pitches from the Soundpools.
  • Élastique timestretch algorithm:
  • The high-quality Élastique algorithm is now used for changing tempo (timestretching) and pitch (pitch shifting) and offers optimal results for all kinds of audio material. A light version, Élastique Efficient, is also available if your computer has trouble handling the normal version.
  • Improved Music Maker Jam import:
  • On Windows 8 and up, you can now import Music Maker Jam projects into MAGIX Music Maker 2016 for further editing. The Music Maker Jam styles and recordings are also automatically available in MAGIX Music Maker 2016.
  • MAGIX Audio Remote - remote control via smartphone app:
  • With the new Audio Remote app for iOS and Android, you can operate Music Maker using your smartphone. If your computer and phone are on the same Wi-Fi network, the app and the program will connect to each other automatically. Right now, the app features transport controls, remote control of filters and reverb on Vita Solo Instruments.

  • New Sounds and Loops:
  • As usual there is a brand new sound archive with various styles ranging from "trendy" to "retro". In addition to the included sound loops, an additional 1000 loops can be downloaded for free from the Internet. To download sounds, click on the "Catooh" button after installing the software and follow instructions.
  • New Synthesizers:
  • The new Vita Solo Instruments include Analog Synths, Urban Drums and the Vita Sampler. The Premium version also includes the two new exotic instruments World Flutes and Celtic Harp. Analog Synths is a massive collection of analog synth sounds that are perfect for all kinds of music projects. Special sampling technology also ensures that they don't require a large amount of your CPU resources. Urban Drums offers contemporary Dubstep and Hip Hop drums in a classic MPC style and the Vita Sampler provides a simple instrument for jamming and remixing all kinds of audio loops. A loaded file is automatically split up and can be played on eight pads or the keys on your keyboard.
  • Vocal Tune 2:
  • For total vocal control: Voice samples or melodies you sing yourself can be "tuned" automatically or completely modified. The second version has an improved control concept based on valuable user feedback. It now includes a detailed and editable pitch curve and a Split Tool among many other improvements.
  • Improved screen keyboard with arpeggiator:
  • The key size for the screen keyboard can now be zoomed to any level. A brand new addition is the arpeggiator that can be used to turn single notes into full chords or broken chords (arpeggios) automatically.
  • Harmony editing in the pitch bar and presets for harmony progressions:
  • The pitch ranges in the pitch bar can now be edited which means that the pitches in specific section of the arrangement can be applied to all tracks simultaneously. One menu contains suitable pitch progressions and even complete song structures as presets. When one of these presets is loaded, all existing loops are automatically adjusted to the chord progression.
  • Crossfades on a track:
  • All objects on the same track can now be crossfaded with one another. If you move an object over another one, a crossfade is generated automatically which fades the first object out while fading the subsequent object in.
  • Many of the finer details on the interface have been improved:
  • Tempo changes (BPM) can now be made during playback, either by tapping or by entering the value directly.
  • The instrument menu in the track header now has a clearer design. Now you'll find the instruments in the first menu layer, the sound categories in the second layer and the actual sounds in the third layer.
  • The track FX rack now has a bypass function
  • The Magnet/Snap function is now easier to use and labeled clearly with a magnet icon in the toolbar.
  • The time signature can now be selected directly in the transport console.
  • Music Maker Jam Import and Export:
  • With Windows 8 you can now import Music Maker Jam http://www.magix.com/de/apps/music-maker-jam/ projects into MAGIX Music Maker 2015 for further editing. The Music Maker Jam styles are also automatically available in MAGIX Music Maker 2015

  • New Synthesizers:
  • The new Vita Solo Instruments Power Guitar and Electric Pop are included; Pop Brass and Vintage Organ are also included in the Premium version. Also newly included is the virtual analog DN-e1 synthesizer for powerful, analog bass and lead sounds.
  • Multi-touch:
  • You can now control Music Maker amazingly with your fingers in Windows 8 and with an appropriate screen. There are special adjustments for this in the interface (larger menus, loops in the media pool, and virtual keyboard keys) and 2 finger gestures for zooming and scrolling.
  • Improved recording:
  • You can now start recordings directly from the main interface; the record dialog and the check back are optional. A corresponding recording folder can be selected for each project.
  • Improved smart preview:
  • The live preview of the soundpool samples during playback has been improved. You can now immediately preview the selected sample, regardless of the position of the playback in the playback range.
  • Vocal Tune for total control over vocals:
  • Voice samples or melodies you sing yourself can be "tuned" to match automatically or completely modified.
  • Pitch bar with harmony adjustment:
  • The pitch of the loop loaded first will now be displayed in a specific bar in the arranger. You can then base yourself on this when loading further loops in order to obtain harmonically matching sections of the song. You will be alerted when loading a "false" pitch; optionally the pitch can thereby be automatically corrected.
  • Improvements in the interface:
  • You can use the keyboard to control the playback marker
  • Custom keyboard shortcuts can also be assigned for the transport controls
  • The mixer is zoomable
  • Context menu of track and track header have been simplified

  • The Vita Sample Player has a new interface and a lot more instruments like the new Vita Solo Instruments String Ensemble and Rock Drums and the Bass Machine and World Percussion included in the Premium version.
  • Improved Interface:
  • The user interface and the workflow have been improved and simplified. The main windows for the arranger, the Media Pool and the video monitor (peak meter) can be adjusted for size and position and the track height is now completely customizable.
  • Improved Soundpool Control:
  • The Soundpool display has been completely redesigned and many of the most important functions have been enhanced. You can now use the full text search to find loops and list them according to pitch or type, i.e. MIDI or audio loops. You can also filter the search to display only the favorites that you have selected. The sample list can also be sorted according to properties, e.g. key, bar length, date, etc.
  • Improved Compatibility:
  • Music Maker arrangements can be opened in Music Studio 2013. All of the functions in Music Maker are reconstructed perfectly in Music Studio. In the rare case that this doesn't work, you can also export arrangements from Music Maker as single tracks.
  • More Tracks:
  • The number of tracks you can use in the Premium version is unlimited and has been increased from 64 to 96 in the standard version.
  • New Program Performance Features:
  • Music Maker can now be started faster and has been enhanced for better performance and stability. The new WASAPI driver support (starting with Windows Vista) for audio playback reduces latency (delays between hitting a note on the keyboard and the production of sound) and provides more stability. It's also a good alternative to ASIO divers for complicated audio output devices.
  • Improved Audio Effects:
  • The parametric equalizer has a redesigned interface and six channels instead of four. The new and improved Premium version also includes the Vintage FX Suite, essential FX Suite and the Mastering Suite.

  • New loops:
  • MAGIX Music Maker 17 is the original for loop-based music production on the PC; no other software can boast as much experience. In the new version, the sound library that comes included has been completely revised with plenty of new audio and MIDI loops.
  • User interface:
  • The user interface has been laid out as clearly as possible. Thanks to its new look, working in MAGIX Music Maker 17 is now significantly more convenient.
  • SoundCloud upload:
  • Soundcloud is an exciting Internet community for musicians, record companies and anyone else who wants to distribute music and communicate via songs. After registering with Soundcloud, you can upload songs directly from MAGIX Music Maker 17 to your personal profile. This takes place via the menu "File > Export > Community Upload > Upload audio to Soundcloud..." Then, you can embed the uploaded songs in a Soundcloud player on other platforms such as Twitter or Facebook.
  • YouTube templates:
  • YouTube is a video platform on the web, where most people go to find new music. Even mufin.com analyses YouTube videos according to their sound and suggests them to other users. Sometimes, there is no fitting video material for a self-made song. Here is where the YouTube templates in the Media Pool come in handy: Simply drag a fitting template into the Arrangement, enter the artist name and song name in the Title Editor, and you can upload the video directly (File > Export > Community Upload > Upload video to YouTube) to present to the whole world.
  • Embedded MIDI editor:
  • MIDI is a protocol for electronic instruments, which determines which instrument should play in which pitch and for how long. A MIDI object is independent of the actual instrument sound and tempo, and can be made as fast or slow as desired, and connected with any intrument. The embedded MIDI Editor of MAGIX Music Maker 17 opens as soon as a MIDI object is selected by clicking on the Inspector in the Media Pool. There, you can draw in individual sounds with a pen tool or play them using a keyboard to the left. Vita Solo instruments Under Synthesizers in the Media Pool, you will find Vita Solo Instruments. Vita Century Keys is a top-class grand piano. Vita Saxophonia is a saxophone sound, which is hardly distinguishable from a professional instrument.
  • Mouse gestures:
  • In MAGIX Music Maker 17 it is possible to dynamically control video and audio effects using mouse gestures. To view a summary of all mouse gestures, read Help.

  • Essential FX:
  • Thanks to Essential FX, you get the newest effects modules to guarantee the best sound results. Essential FX may be accessed via the mixer's plug-in slots (shortcut: M) or in the object context menu.
  • Vandal SE:
  • The new guitar and bass amplifier from MAGIX. Sound fidelity never available before even satisfies professional demands. Vandal SE may be used directly in a track by selecting the point "MAGIX plug-ins -> VANDAL_SE" in the mixer (shortcut: M) under "FX". The Vandal SE interface will open for you to make numerous adjustments, just like you would to the settings on genuine amplifier.
  • Object inspector:
  • With the help of the practical object inspector, you can work on your arrangement even faster to avoid lost time searching for specific effects. As soon as you have selected an audio object, this will show you the most important editing effects. For MIDI objects, you will see a virtually integrated keyboard for quickly inputting your melodies. The inspector is available via the corresponding button in the Media Pool.
  • Microscope mode:
  • Activate this mode and click on an object to zoom in for detailed editing. This allows individual drum hits in a loop to be edited in a very detailed way, cut with the separation function, and then processed with individual effects. In the lower right section of the arranger, you will see a button with four arrows pointing outwards on it. Click this button again to reset the view to the original settings.
  • Upload songs to MySpace:
  • The number of relevant artists without their own MySpace site is becoming smaller and smaller, since this is a great platform for introducing songs. That's why MAGIX Music Maker 16 features a function for uploading arrangement directly to this Internet community. This function is available via "File -> Export -> Upload audio to MySpace/DJ Tunes...".
  • Interactive workshop:
  • Learn about MAGIX Music Maker 16 via the interactive tutorial and find out about the important features quickly. This function is presented in the welcome dialog.
