  • Bug fixes:
  • “Do you want to save change” message is hidden and blocked the program if the it is half-hidden behind the screen

New in PDF Architect 7.0.21.1534 (Apr 5, 2019)

  • PDF Architect has never been better. The new version comes with an improved usability that focuses on making complex tasks easier and quicker to complete. While PDF Architect 7 offers more freedom in connection with known features that have proved their value, new features are perfectly supplementing them in order to help you use your PDF editor to the max.
  • Improved usabililty for forms and text fields:
  • While the Java Script input window has received new numbered lines and a "Go To Line" function, some of the more advanced actions no longer require using it. Instead, new formatting, validation and calculation possibilities have been added to support individual requirements for your forms. Text fields and combo boxes now have several formatting options like decimal place and separator style for numbers and percentages, currency symbols, date, time, zip code, phone number and social security numbers. In addition, calculations between form fields can now be made much more easily using predefined functions like sum or product without writing any Java Script.
  • Furthermore, we have improved the user interface for forms by adding a calender selection button for text fields containing dates and the possibility to numerically specify field dimensions and positions for any form element. It has never been easier to create forms tailored to your personal workflow.
  • Helpful additions:
  • Working with Shapes has been improved in the new version. The cloud shape has been added to the review tab, where it can quickly be selected from the Shape menu. In the same location you will find the new "Draw Cloud" option, which lets you customize a cloud’s shape and size by setting its perimeter. In addition, all shapes can now easily be rotated with the new rotate option, and the CTRL & SHIFT buttons for the Stamp, Shape and Signature fields are now functional to give you even more control over dimensions. More good news is that a spell check feature has been added that can be used in the form fields.
  • Last but not least, in the new version, you no longer need to use "Add Actions" in order to add a functional bookmark. Instead, you can now directly add it via the bookmark panel. The bookmark destination can also be updated by right-clicking a bookmark and choosing ‘Set current as destination’.

  • Faster Startup:
  • The Startup time of PDF Architect was a point criticized by many users. PDF Architect 2.0 has been optimized and now usually starts within 3 seconds. The speed within the application was also improved to increase your productivity.
  • Optical Character Recognition (OCR):
  • Among the most exciting improvements and the features asked for most often is Optical Character Recognition (OCR). We have integrated one of the leading OCR engines to provide you high quality results. With OCR, you can convert a scanned image into a document that you can search and edit – nearly as if you have created it your own. You can also use it on screenshots to extract text from things you see on your computer that are not editable as text.
  • Improved User Interface:
  • The PDF Architect user interface was completely reworked. Besides the modern look, much has changed under the hood. Many improvements were implemented to accelerate the usage of PDF Architect 2. In addition to that, we have also reworked features from your perspective. Our question was: How can you achieve your goals faster? With this in mind, we have reworked many dialogs to provide you the best experience.
  • Snap Lines:
  • Snap lines are a great help in creating documents. If you want to align several items with consistently, the snap lines help you with placing items at the same position.   • Digital Signatures:
  • Digitally signing a document with PDF Architect sometimes was hard. And to be honest: we did not do it right in the first attempt. For PDF Architect 2, we have totally reworked the logic behind it. It is much easier to understand now, a wizard will guide you through all required steps. You can also customize the appearance of the signature and save it for later use. The certificate sources have also been improved. Besides using a certificate file, you also have the option to take signatures from the Windows Certificate Storage. Finally, you can inspect and verify the signatures applied to a document.
  • Snapshot Tool:
  • The new snapshot tool gives you the ability to quickly create an image of an area within any opened document. The helps documenting steps you were doing or creating a verbatim copy of a part of the document. You can then paste the snapshot in many application, like Microsoft Word and Photoshop – and of course in PDF Architect.
