August 31st, 2010· The template for PayPal Shop Maker 4 has been largely rewritten in PHP to support more dynamic features.
The generated site is now always a PHP web application with database. Three database types are supported:
· Microsoft Access (Windows server only)
· SQLite (Linux/Windows server, requires PHP PDO_SQLITE extension)
· MySQL (Linux/Windows server, requires PHP MySQL extension)
· Note: HTML and classic ASP version is no longer supported.
Multiple Categories for Each Product:
· Now you can specify more than one category for each product.
More Options and Default Values:
· You can have up to 7 options with default value
More Custom Fields:
· Up to 6 custom fields to show more info about your products
Subscribe Buttons:
· PayPal Subscribe buttons are now supported and the products can be placed in the same cart with other products using Buy Now buttons or Add to Cart buttons.
Discount Code:
· Promote sales by offering discount code (or discount coupon or promotion code) to your customers. Discount can be by percentage or fixed amount.
Countries and States:
· You can manage countries and states in the user interface and hide some countries or states easily.
Improved Menu:
· Options to use horizontal menu and show category product count.
· Allow up to 6 images (or swf) for each product
· Auto-detect swf dimensions
· Allow more cart items for browsers that support HTML 5 storage, e.g. FireFox 3, Safari 4, IE 8.
· Meta tags and title tag with individual product information for View page
· Improved user interface with unicode support
· Other minor enhancements and bug fixes
