· Fixed a problem related to opening registry files for editing in REGEDIT5 format - Fixed a problem related to opening registry files for editing in REGEDIT5 (unicode) registration file format.
· Fixed stack overflow error - Exporting to a registration file of a large hive could result in an “access violation” or “stack overflow” error message. This has been fixed.
· Registry Restore from default location - Registry restore functionality from a default location could fail. This has been fixed.
· Registry Backup icons - Registry backup tool now displays the correct icons for listed backups.
· Registry Defrag and Restore warning added to close down all programs - A warning message has been added before initiating the restore or defragmentation process that it is required to close down all running programs first.
· Fixed bug in export function - When exporting a REG_EXPAND_SZ value to a REGEDIT5 (unicode) type registration file, Registrar would not properly export the value as unicode. This has been fixed.
· New option: disable file system redirection when retrieving icons and file information - When obtaining file icons and file information using the CLSID and File Reference tools, you can select whether Registrar disables file system redirection when running on x64 editions of Windows Vista and Windows XP. We believe there is an operating system bug related to this which needs further investigation. While this is not a serious issue, it can cause annoying error messages to be displayed on Vista x64 edition according to reports, these can be circumvented by disabling this option.
· Bug fixed: refresh after import - After successfully importing a registry file, registry views are now updated automatically.
· Registry monitor improvements - The registry monitor now displays more detailed output on Windows x64 edition. Also it has been updated to pass several reliability and verification tests for robustness.
· RRSPY.SYS installation problem solved - A problem has been fixed with the installation. On certain systems the files related to the registry monitor would not install properly causing several problems.
· Window sizes of editing windows maintained - Registrar now will create new editing windows with the same size as the last registry editing window that was closed. The which restore edit window settings between settings has not been changed.
· Problems solved with CLISID Lookup Utility and File Refrence Editor - The CLSID lookup utility and File Reference Editor would always retrieve information from files, even if they would reside on a CD/DVD or floppy disk . This was causing inconvenient messages on certain systems which had registry pointers to files residing on such drives if no disk was present.
· Registrar Shell Find Extension was not properly removed - A reference to a CLSID for a shell extension created by Registrar in previous editions had not been properly removed from the registry. This problem is fixed.
· Registry Bookmark link editor fixed - The editor which allows editing hyperlinks of registry bookmarks was not functional. This has been fixed.
· Registry Bookmark Category move functionality fixed - The bookmark editor did not support drag and drop of registry bookmark categories. This has been resolved.
