What's new in Safe Eyes Parental Control 6.0.238

Apr 20, 2010
  • Filter Online TV by Standard Ratings:
  • Online video is more popular than ever, and Safe Eyes can guide children to age-appropriate videos by not only preventing access according to category, but also by TV and Movie ratings. Safe Eyes’ online video management works on YouTube, all major TV network sites, and Hulu.com.
  • Prevent Explicit Downloads through iTunes:
  • Safe Eyes can prevent children from downloading music with explicit lyrics through iTunes. Just check the box and explicit downloads will be a thing of the past.
  • Enable Safe-Search on All Major Search Engines:
  • Searching the Internet is the most common way of discovering new sites and apps, and completing homework and research assignments. Unfortunately, it's also the most common way that kids encounter inappropriate content. Safe Eyes 6 allows parents to enforce safe-search settings on all major search engines with a click of the mouse.
  • Smart, Streamlined Activity Reports:
  • While some parental control products will spit out endless lists of URLs for parents to review, Safe Eyes 6 organizes the information according to activity and provides top-level, at-a-glance information that keeps parents informed and aware. In addition to the Activity Reports, Safe Eyes 6 can send either daily or weekly Activity Summary emails.

New in Safe Eyes Parental Control 5.1.1 (Jul 17, 2008)

  • Safe Eyes Email Blocking
  • Protect your children and teenagers by limiting which email accounts can be checked, and who email can be received from.
  • You create a "whitelist" of approved contacts that can be emailed. Any email that is sent from or to an address not on the approved list is blocked.
  • Social Networking
  • Protect your personal information and keep your children safe on social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook, and Xanga.
  • Enter your address, phone number, etc. into Safe Eyes and any time that data is posted to any website or forum it is tracked in the usage reports for that Safe Eyes user.
  • Usage Reports and the Safe Eyes Administrator
  • If you save your usage logs to your computer, you will notice that the usage log viewer has been completely redesigned. From there, you can expand different areas to see detailed usage information, you can view multiple days at a time, and you can save/print the usage reports.
  • Normal user accounts only see their own usage reports and the Safe Eyes administrator now has the option to prevent them from seeing any usage data.
  • The Safe Eyes Filter Administrator has been completely redesigned to make it easier to find and configure Safe Eyes settings.
  • There is now an Account Summary page that allows you to view all active features for all your users and jump right to any feature for a particular user.
  • Safe Eyes Security Enhancements
  • The security of Safe Eyes has been increased. Secure/encrypted websites (HTTPS/SSL) are now categorized and blocked if you have chosen to block that category.
  • In previous versions of Safe Eyes, any Safe Eyes user could log in on any computer with Safe Eyes. There is now a new feature called "User Roaming" that can be used to prevent this and increase security on your computer. Log in to Safe Eyes using the administrative account and under "Support" in the Safe Eyes Tray Icon menu, choose "Prevent User Roaming."
