What's new in Sony Virtual Remote Control 1.3

Oct 3, 2014
  • Redesigned registration scheme to support A/V Receivers that require MAC address to properly register (e.g. Sony STR-DN1040). Added default command set for A/V Receivers.

New in Sony Virtual Remote Control 1.2.2 (Sep 29, 2014)

  • Added support for some SONY Network A/V Receivers. These devices usually have multiple 'personalities' (mediarenderer, server etc.) so they appear multiple times in the device selection list. But only the mediarenderer supports IRCC so you should choose the right one.

New in Sony Virtual Remote Control 1.2.1 (May 3, 2014)

  • This version only updates the Automation/COM interface.
  • SendIRCC is not a procedure anymore but a function that returns the result of the call (1 if succeeded else 0).
  • New function GetIRCC added. It returns the IRCC code of vremote commands(eg. 'Mute','Confirm' etc.) that can be used as a parameter to SendIRCC. Note: This function does not query the Sony device directly instead returns the value that is defined in vremote 'IRCC Command Editor' form.

New in Sony Virtual Remote Control 1.2 (Oct 28, 2013)

  • Added Automation/COM server so you can use Virtual Remote to send IRCC commands from scripts/other programs(e.g. XBMC).
  • Added autodetect and default command set options (Sony Bravia, Sony BD Player) to Command Setup dialog
  • Admin mode demanding manifest is not compiled to the executable anymore but included as a separate file, so you can change it to a non-admin mode manifest file if you want.

New in Sony Virtual Remote Control 1.1.5.0 (May 23, 2013)

  • Fixed user interface bug in case of higher than normal(96) windows DPI setting.
