What's new in StampManage 2016

  • Values and Data:
  • In the USA version there have been thousands of value changes. The stamp database has been updated through October 2015.
  • The Deluxe version contains thousands more listings, over 311,000 at this time. Plus thousands of additional images and prices.
  • Webcam:
  • You can now use your Webcam directly from StampManage to take a picture of your stamps. This feature is present as well in the Add Stamp Wizard, so you can focus your webcam on a stamp, take a snapshot and look for that stamp using the Lignup Internet Stamp search (sold separately).
  • New Collectors.com feature:
  • A great new website called Collectors.com lets you search for your stamps by SCOTT#. It then finds dealers on the internet, plus eBay listings for the stamp.
  • Currently only works for USA & Canadian stamps, we will add other countries in the future when they are added to the web-site.
  • Reporting:
  • StampManage 2016 includes a brand new report designer. Some of the major new report designer features include:
  • Drag and drop field placement. Simply drag and drop the fields you wish to see in your report. Much easier than the previous method especially for beginner report designers.
  • Conditional expressions. Lets you do things such as: show all stamps worth over $1000 in bold red
  • Bug Fixes and Usability enhancements:
  • Several additional pages have been added to the user manual. More screen shots.

New in StampManage 2015 (Sep 17, 2015)

  • Values and Data:
  • In the USA version there have been thousands of value changes as well as hundreds of improved images from the 2014 version. The stamp database has been updated through the end of 2014.
  • Additional Views:
  • View stamps or FDCs in your collection by Postmark City & Postmark Type. Adding Postmark information is easier as you can now pick from a list of all previously entered Postmark Types or Postmark Cities.
  • New SOLD ITEMS folder. This folder contains all stamps that have been sold.
  • Internet Backup & Restore:
  • Backup your stamp inventory & images to our secure data center. This feature also makes it easy to transfer your data to another computer or laptop. Just do an Internet backup on the first computer, then Restore the data onto the 2nd computer.
  • New Mystic & Information Overload feature:
  • USA stamps now have direct links to the excellent stamp variety information pages at the Mystic Stamp Company website.
  • The Information Overload feature lets you select a stamp, then view eBay, Bidstart & Mystic Stamp pages related to that variety. It will also perform a LignUp image search on the stamp if it has an image associated with it.
  • Status Bar:
  • The status bar now keeps running totals of: Cost, Value, Number of Stamps, Sheets, FDCs, Plate Blocks & Line Pairs.
  • Stamp Data Manager:
  • The Stamp Data Manager has a new Stamps - Text section. This makes it much easier to quickly add and edit text information for stamp varieties.
  • New Fields and Prefixes:
  • New fields include Grade Number field.
  • Reporting:
  • The new version of our Report Designer has several improvements.
  • Bug Fixes and Usability enhancements:
  • Several additional pages have been added to the user manual. More screen shots.

New in StampManage 2014 (May 5, 2014)

  • Values and Data:
  • In the USA version includes hundreds of new images as well as hundreds of improved images from the 2013 version. The stamp database has been updated to late 2013.
  • The 2014 Deluxe version includes over 267,400 stamp variety listings and 147,000+ images. Compare to the last release of the 2013 Deluxe version which shipped with around 243,000 listings and 130,000 images. Many thanks to the people who contributed their own scans to the program.
  • We went through every country in the program stamp database and cleaned up stamps that were in the wrong category, also deleted stamp varieties with inaccurate information.
  • Additional Views:
  • View stamps in your collection by Printer and by Stamp Value..an easy way to show high value stamps as well as stamps that have not yet been assigned a value.
  • View the StampManage database grouped by Country and Series
  • Improved Search:
  • Searching collections or the database will yield much more accurate results. For example, in previous versions of StampManage, a search for "chess" would return results with "Duchess" or "Chessman" in the results. The 2014 version eliminates that problem.
  • Users can search in the Variety Comments, Other Text on Stamp and Variety Topic fields.
  • Want List:
  • It is much easier to add stamps to your want list. Add to Want List commands have been placed on virtually all popup menus where applicable.
  • To view your want list from anywhere in the program select View > Want List from the main menu.
  • If a stamp is in your want list, you will see the 'WL' in the Own column.
  • Add Stamp Wizard:
  • This new feature is very useful if you have a stamp, but have no idea what the SCOTT number is or possibly even what country it is from. With the Add Stamp Wizard you can scan the stamp and then search the internet. In many cases the matches return will provide the SCOTT number and country. If not, you can usually find out which year the stamp was made. Which can usually be used to find the variety in the Wizard. You can then enter additional information such as condition and inventory the stamp.
  • New Add stamp wizard makes it easier to identify stamps you own. You can use the LignUp image search feature to find out the SCOTT# or other important information that will help identify the stamp.
  • New Fields and Prefixes:
  • New fields include Face Value.
  • StampManage 2014 now uses a SCOTT prefix table to suggest category names and automatically open the correct stamp category name.
  • The StampManage database is now cross-referenced by Country / Series as well.
  • Reporting:
  • The new version of our Report Designer has several improvements.
  • Another great new feature is "Live Preview". You can see what your stamp report will look like with actual data from the program. This feature makes it much easier to decide proper column widths and other report parameters.
  • When editing or creating a report, the StampManage user can print, preview or export a sample report directly from the report designer. This is a great way to quickly see if column widths and other report information is correct, without having to save the report, run a report from StampManage and then edit the report again to make minor changes.
  • Bug Fixes and Usability enhancements:
  • Several additional pages have been added to the user manual. More screen shots.
  • Removing "decimal" varieties. The StampManage database ships with listings for stamps that are in the SCOTT catalog but do not have their own SCOTT number. These stamps will have the suffix .01, 0.2, etc.. To permanently remove these varieties from the database, select TOOLS > PREFERENCES... from the main menu, and then click on the Remove Decimal Varieties button.

New in StampManage 2010 (Dec 15, 2009)

  • Want List:
  • When a stamp is added to a collection, it will be removed from your Want List if it is there.
  • Values:
  • Values have been updated for 2010. Several thousand stamps (Deluxe Version) now have valuations that did not previously. StampManage now includes values for Line Pairs and PNC Strip of 5 where applicable.
  • Reporting:
  • Many new reports have been added to the program. All existing reports have been improved.
  • New version of the report designer. Which includes the ability to create drill-down type reports, Windows 7 certification and several other enhancements.
  • Print:
  • When printing a collection, you can now edit the printout as a report. You can also specify whether the output should be grouped. You can make changes to the printout design using the Report designer.
  • Stamp Images:
  • Thousands of new stamp images have been added to varieties previously without images, or as improvements over existing images. Many thanks to the people who contributed their own scans to the program.
  • Stamp Data:
  • Several customer have contributed thousands of records, including data for GDR, German States, Aden and several other countries.
  • Data Backup & Restore:
  • Data backups can now be restored.
  • User can enter a name for the backup file, previously a name would be generated based on the time and date.

New in StampManage 2009 (Oct 31, 2008)

  • Stamp Formats:
  • Additional stamp formats (paste up pair, strips, etc.) have been added to the Add Stamp dialog. Selecting a Plate Block or other format will automatically enter the value for that format if available. Problems entering multiple Plate Blocks, FDC's, etc have been fixed.
  • Values:
  • Values have been updated for 2009. Several thousand stamps (Deluxe Version) now have valuations that did not previously. StampManage now includes values for Line Pairs and PNC Strip of 5 where applicable.
  • Reporting:
  • It is now much easier to run reports. You can now simply right mouse click and pick from a list of available reports. This can be done throughout the program.
  • Stamp Identifier:
  • You can now enter a denomination and range of years to assist in identifying stamps. Reports can be quickly created from the search results.
  • Stamp Images:
  • Thousands of new stamp images have been added to varieties previously without images, or as improvements over existing images. Many thanks to the people who contributed their own scans to the program.
  • Stamp Data:
  • Several customer have contributed thousands of records, including data for GDR, German States, Aden and several other countries.
  • Data Backup:
  • Data backups are now stored in ZIP format. The backup ZIP file consists of the data file and any images that have been attached to stamp records by the user.
  • Search StampWants auctions:
  • You can now search auctions from the popular www.stampwants.com stamp auction site. As of this writing, there are over 1,000,000 stamp auctions currently running on this site.

New in StampManage 2007 (Mar 15, 2007)

  • Updated values & many more images.
  • Stamps for Germany, improved reporting.

New in StampManage 2006 (Feb 21, 2007)

  • Thumbnail View - Our new thumbnail view lets you see a 48x48 thumbnail image of a stamp. You will see the thumbnails throughout the program wherever there is a list of stamps. The thumbnail view can be toggled off from the View menu.
  • Program Updates - StampManage can now automatically query our web-site for updated versions of the program, as well as for new stamp data & reports. If new updates are available, they will automatically be downloaded.
  • Want List - The Stampmanage Want list has been moved to the collections view. You can now see Countries & Categories within the want list.
  • Database Backup - StampManage can now backup your database file and any images you have attached to your stamp collection records. The backup directory can be specified in the Preferences dialog. We strongly recommend you set the backup directory to another storage device such as a separate external hard drive. Backups can be automatically executed on program termination by specifying the frequency within the Preferences dialog.
  • Stamp Images - Over 1,000 new stamp images have been added to varieties previously without images, or as improvements over existing images.
  • Stamp Details View - (lower right window pane) now only shows non-empty fields. In most cases, you should now be able to see all the details information without have to scroll.
  • Stamp Values - Thousands of values have been updated. You will see new valuations throughout the program in grade categories previously not covered
