  • Changes and enhancements in this version:
  • GUI redesigned to use a tabbed interface for the General, Line numbering, Line splitting/wordwrap and replace functions. Help file brought into line to reflect changes.
  • — 'Replace [ ]' in-app amendment capability added to tabbed interface.
  • — 'No replacement' facility added on square bracket replacement tab.
  • — 'Undo replacement' facility added on square bracket replacement tab.

  • — Lines with only spaces, tabs etc. were not being treated as 'blank' by the "Omit blank lines" function
  • — The "First N lines" window now scrolls sideways when text lines are longer than the viewing window
  • — The square bracket replacement was switched to after the "First NN lines" functon so that it displays correctly pre-replacement
  • — Match Case facility was not working in 'Replace' function

New in TEXTREME 2.8 (Jun 10, 2014)

  • The Change Case function has been moved from the General Settings area into the function list meaning this can be done at any stage rather than only before or after the other functions in the list. This means that the size of the main window has been able to be reduced back to 800x 615 to better accommodate low-resolution screen users.
  • File drag-and-drop within Windows Explorer has been implemented (see help
  • file).
  • The default output filename is now the input filename with the appending of a user-set (in the ini file) suffix.
  • Warning added if user attempts to create an output file that would overwrite one that already exists. The warning can be suppressed in the ini file so that it does not halt batch operations.
  • Bug found and fixed in the Insert function when Before or After string is not present in the text line.

New in TEXTREME 2.7 (Mar 24, 2014)

  • Addition of a new line-split (with or without word wrap) option after user request.
  • Line split may be in either Windows or Unix format.
