Talking Clock Changelog

What's new in Talking Clock 1.31

Aug 14, 2010
  • Fixed a few bugs, probably(hopefully not) created a few more, and added some features/options.
  • Fixed a bug causing the speak/volume hotspots on the clock face to get covered up when date display is turned off.
  • Fixed a couple bugs in the volume slider and made it instantly change the volume(so for example you can mute it while it's talking and it will stop). Also added response to the mouse wheel to change the volume.
  • Fixed a small bug causing the clock to mess up if you close out of the update alert. You'll still experience that bug this time before updating since it's dictated by the old version.
  • Switched the clock over to the new date/time codes method. Now you can type custom date/time codes anywhere you choose a format or create an alarm. In addition to these we kept the option to enter a simple date/time into the alarms like before only now it's %time and te instead of %t and %d since those codes are already taken in the new system.
  • Changed the clock ticking method to make it more accurate. Now as far as we can tell it's more accurate than any other gadgets we've seen(including the clock gadget that comes with Vista). We felt it necessary to be accurate since you can now choose to display seconds.
  • Added an option to choose how 24 hour time is spoken.(oclock, hours, military time)
  • Finally we included the persistant settings module. This will make it so from now on, anytime you close the gadget and re-open, your settings will still be there. Also they will remain intact after updating to newer versions. Because there is no way to reset the gadget by closing and restarting, we've added a reset section in the settings pages to reset the settings back to default.
  • NOTE: The persistent settings to do not take effect until AFTER this upgrade. So settings you have before this upgrade will be lost. From then on, they will be saved.
