New in UltimateDefrag 1.48 (Apr 3, 2007)

  • In this revision we reworked the CPU/Resource usage routine which was causing some stalling problems on some dual core processors. We also added an AUTOMATIC resource usage which now throttles CPU usage. This enables you to defrag while you are using your computer with very little performance penalty.

New in UltimateDefrag 1.44 (Feb 22, 2007)

  • ADDED NEW OPTISEEK TECHNOLOGY INCORPORATED INTO NEW AUTO METHOD - OptiSeek is a new proprietary technology that automatically tunes the file layout of your hard drive to achieve file access performance equal to the track-to-track seek performance for your hard drive for most file access. OptiSeek has been incorporated into an AUTO method which automatically sets the percentage of files to archive and percentage to high performance based on the amount of data on your drive. Performance can also be tuned with a slider. This new method is ideal for end users who want to defrag without all of the added options while at the same time maintaining an optimally performing hard drive. Further information is on page 33 of PDF manual.
  • Removed "Days since access" in Drive options screen and replaced with % Most Used and % Least Used files.
  • Added Zoom Functionality to Disk Display. Right Clicking on the mouse brings up zoom functions for the disk display.
