  • This version fixes a problem with uploading your music database if you use the MyDJSongbook app. Uploading now works as it should.

New in Virtual DJ Studio 8.2.1 (Apr 28, 2022)

  • This version addresses some issues, specifically when using the MDSB Online Songbook feature. Due to recent global events, server providers (including ours) have taken security measures, that makes it more easy to mistake the use of these apps as malicious attacks to the server.
  • To combat this, we've slowed down the amount of data going back and forth between your PC and the server, and at the same time limited the frequency of the phone app also pinging the server.
  • We hope to soon move to a new server where we have more control, but until then, no new signups will be accepted for the Songbook feature :(

  • Playlist Crossfade when using Seconds rather than Level now works as expected
  • Adjusting the Pitch/Tempo/Key was not displaying the change in the indicator (though it was affecting the audio). This has also been fixed

  • This version fixes problems with Windows 7. Previous versions did not run on Windows 7 due to a minor issue. This update is only recommended if you are running less than VDJ 8.1 or are wanting to install on a Windows 7 machine.

New in Virtual DJ Studio 8.0.8 (Feb 18, 2020)

  • The Preview area now shows video at full frame-rate when the Full-Screen window is hidden. This allows you to use without an external monitor and view videos as they should look within the Preview area.
  • Also some minor fixes to the App Server component where, occasionally, if you were on a slow or unreliable connection, the program could freeze unexpectedly.

New in Virtual DJ Studio 8.0.7 (Feb 12, 2020)

  • This update adds more improvements, including indexing the Duration of ZIP files (for CDG+MP3). It is recommended to perform a Reindex after this update, though this is not required.
  • Other minor performance improvements have been made internally.

New in Virtual DJ Studio 8.0.6 (Feb 10, 2020)

  • Building upon the major 8.0.0 release on the first of the month, 8.0.6 adds many small fixes and improvements. At this point, Virtual DJ Studio 8 is considered to be rock-solid and stable, so be sure to upgrade if you are using any previous 8.x version. This update is free if you bought an 8.x license, and will not change any of your settings by installing it over the existing version.
  • Most notable changes include:
  • FIX: Fade Out & Stop feature works better
  • Improvement: You can now show a List of upcoming singers along-side Pictures
  • Improvement: Ability to place the countdown timer in any corner of the Video Screen
  • Improvement: Ability to treat all Video files the same way as CDG/ZIP files
  • That last improvement simply lets a Video File have a "Singer Name" at the top of the line, and carries the Singer and Key along with it when drag and dropping the file from one place to another.
  • There are other improvements internally that make this the most stable 8.x version yet! New features are coming all the time, so stay tuned...

  • This is a minor bug fix release. The master MONO button was not functioning in previous versions, this update fixes that.

New in Virtual DJ Studio 7.8 Revision 00 (Jun 30, 2017)

  • This update has a few minor bug fixes. Also fixed issues with certain Karaoke files not showing lyrics - specifically karaoke files using "channels" other than channel 0 (zero) wouldn't display without having to navigate through the right-click menu.

New in Virtual DJ Studio 7.7 Revision 09 (Jun 19, 2017)

  • Additional bug fixes and feature enhancements. You can now sort your Search results by File, Location (Path), or even Duration. More search result columns are coming soon, with more sorting options to go with it. Note that sorting by Full Path (Location column) in descending order - the default setting - is always fastest, as this is the order the music is sorted in the actual database.
  • Fixes include a potential crash bug after indexing your music database. This has been confirmed fixed, however if you were experiencing this particular issue we strongly encourage that you do a FULL re-index (checking the Completely Reset Index box in the Search Options) to eliminate any corrupted data in the index.

New in Virtual DJ Studio 7.7 Revision 08 (Jun 7, 2017)

  • LOTS of bug fixes and speed improvements, this version uses less memory, especially if you have a lot of song files indexed.
  • The indexer is further improved, faster, yet still compatible with the format introduced in 7.7.7 (so upgrading from 7.7.7 to 7.7.8 will NOT require a full re-index).

New in Virtual DJ Studio 2015 7.7.7.0 (May 21, 2017)

  • The main improvement is in the Music Database Indexer. It does the indexing in two stages. The first stage takes only minutes, and lets you access your database immediately. The second stage is all done in the background, where it gathers more information about your files in order to provide better search results.
  • Also new: You can allow your customers to follow-along with the Karaoke Lyrics on their Cell Phone or other device with the MyDjSongBook.com app.
  • Many other bug fixes and minor improvements are in this new version, so be sure to upgrade to 7.7.7 today!

  • Some internal bug fixes and improvements. Most notably, if an error message pops up behind the startup splash screen, the program would appear "frozen" until you could click the invisible message box. This has been fixed.

  • This update speeds up file indexing somewhat, but mostly adds support for a wider variety of ZIP files, including those using Deflate32 and Deflate64.
  • In other words, if some of your Karaoke ZIP files do not play in the other versions of Virtual DJ Studio, 7.4.1 should fix that problem.

New in Virtual DJ Studio 2015 7.2 Revision 04 (Oct 6, 2015)

  • We have fixed a few very minor bugs, and added one new feature: You can now select certain folders that will automatically reindex every time you start VDJ.
  • This is handy for a Downloads or New Songs folder, so that you don't have to reindex your entire library when you add new songs.

New in Virtual DJ Studio 2015 7.2 Revision 03 (Oct 6, 2015)

  • We have added a few new features to the 7.x series. Most notably is the Auto-Complete feature when you add a song to the Karaoke Queue.
  • By default, whenever you add a song and label the singer's name, that singer and their song are automatically added to the Saved Singers list. As you type the singer's name in the Queue, the saved singers names matching what you type pop up, along with their profile picture.
  • You can choose not to show the profile pictures, and other options by clicking the Options button on the right-side of the Karaoke Queue tab, or choosing Karaoke Options in the Program Options dialog.
  • You can now rename or delete files directly from within the Search Results. This affects the file on the filesystem as well as in the database. Simply press F2 to Rename a file, or press DEL to delete it. You can also right-click for more options

New in Virtual DJ Studio 6.5 (May 28, 2013)

  • Version 6.5 of Virtual DJ Studio includes many internal enhancements to make it use resources much more efficiently. All display elements (VU meters, analyzers, and timer displays) are both more responsive and more efficient at the same time.
  • New Feature: Trigger Time:
  • When auto-triggering a line, or auto-crossfading a song in the Playlist, the displayed time changes to show how much time is left before the trigger/fade, and turns red. In a normal trigger line, it then shows how much time is still remaining in dark red after triggering the next line.
  • Playlist Scrolling:
  • When dragging a file into the playlist player, or moving files within the list, the list will scroll when you reach the top or bottom of the list, giving you more control when organizing your playlist.
