VuePrint Changelog

What's new in VuePrint 8.0

Jul 21, 2009
  • New features in 8.0
  • Updated for Windows Vista
  • Known problems:
  • When opening multiple files with the file dialog boxes on
  • Windows NT 4.0, the maxmimum length of the selected file
  • names is 256 bytes. This is caused by a bug in Windows NT
  • 4.0 - this error isn't present in the beta versions of NT 4.0,
  • and isn't present in Windows 95. It appears to be fixed
  • in Service Pack 3 of NT 4.0.
  • If you're having a problem getting the screen saver to
  • start again on the last image it displayed, try putting a
  • trailing slash on the file name (i.e. c:jpeg instead of
  • c:jpeg), and turn off the random order flag.
  • If "All files" is selected in the "File|Open..." dialog box,
  • and a single file is selected, all files in subdirectories
  • are selected along with all files in the current directory.
  • Use "VuePrint files" instead.
  • Using graphics import filters included with Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Word 7.0 and later contains 32-bit
  • filters that can be used with the Pro/32 Edition
  • of VuePrint. Note that these filters are only
  • available from Microsoft if you purchase Microsoft
  • Word (as well as several other Microsoft products), and
  • are not available from Hamrick Software.
  • Microsoft's graphics import filters are usually stored in:
  • C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedGrphflt
  • If you want to use a different directory for filters,
  • add the following to the .ini file:
  • FilterDirectory=c:directory
  • (Be sure to put the trailing "" at the end.)
  • You can control which import filters are used by VuePrint
  • by using the "Utilities|Configure extensions..." command.
  • Put the file types for the filters you want to use on the
  • WMF file, in any position except the first (which needs
  • to be .wmf).
  • Some of the filters provided with Microsoft Word duplicate
  • the file formats supported natively by VuePrint. If you
  • configure a filter for a supported file format (i.e. GIF),
  • VuePrint will try first to read the file with the filter,
  • and will then try to read the file with the native code.
  • If you're having problems with the images read by a
  • graphics import filter, try adding the following line
  • to the .ini file:
  • EnableFastMetafile=0
  • We hope you find this information useful, but please note
  • that the use of Graphics Import Filters with VuePrint
  • is unsupported, which means we aren't able to provide
  • e-mail technical support for anything related to filters.
  • Menu codes:
  • VuePrint can be customized to execute any menu command
  • when one of the following happens:
  • Various kinds of Mouse actions (described in the
  • "Utilities|Configure options..." command under
  • MouseEvent) such as left and right mouse clickc.
  • Slideshow events (under Slideshow menu)
  • Scanning an image (ScanSaveAs option)
  • Finding an image in the clipboard (ClipboardEvent option)
