  • We developed a new system to manage all the files used on a project. Now these files are all automatically reported in the Project Library and, in this way, they are easily accessible. You will just need a couple of clicks to find a file in the Library and use it on different pages.
  • NEW Project Optimization:
  • Now that you can manage the files linked to the project, you can also optimize its size. On Step 5, we added a new window you can use to analyze your project, create a backup copy of the resources you used - which is particularly useful if you need to move the project onto a new PC- as well as delete the files that are no longer connected to the website.   • NEW File Selection window:

  • A new preinstalled Object is now available in the library. Use the Portfolio Object to create a list of elements which can be displayed in dedicated customizable cards, and give your visitors the possibility of using filters and categories to search or organize the entries. In short, it’s perfect for presenting a portfolio of your best work and projects on your website.
  • Instalment payment via PayPal:
  • Give your online shop customers the possibility of paying by installments without interest or additional costs. We’ve integrated the PayPal “Buy Now Pay Later” service and a single click will be enough for you to activate it on your store. PayPal will take charge of the installment credit, while you will receive the whole amount right away.
  • Object Search:
  • The Object library becomes more and more rich in tools for completing your pages. A useful search filed is now available for you to immediately find the Object you are looking for: just type in the name and you’re ready to use it.
  • Videos for your Entry Page:
  • The Entry Page is a sort of cover giving the visitors the possibility to access its home page after a set amount of time or by clicking on a link: for example, you can use it to ask them to choose the language they want to visit your website in.   • E-commerce: new Product Search Page:
  • You asked, we delivered: a new internal search engine for online stores that can help your clients quickly find the products they want. As of today, it's finally available!
  • The new Product Search Page not only includes the usual search bar, it also comes with filters to search by category, price range, new items, or items on sale. The results are then displayed through product sheets with all the necessary information: titles, short descriptions, images, prices, and the "Buy" button.
  • If you have a lengthy product catalog, this search page will be very helpful for your customers, and therefore for your sales too.
  • Working with the Product Search Page is very easy. You'll find it listed directly in the Site Map: from there, you can access its settings to customize it and insert it into the navigation menu. You can also choose to create a link to it: in the Link window, you'll find a new type of link created specifically for this purpose. In fact, you can create more than one link to the Product Search Page, one for each type of main category in your store.
  • If you find yourself managing a catalog with a large number of products, a search bar isn't just useful for your clients, it can also help you administer your own store. That's why we also added it to the toolbar inside WebSite X5.
  • E-commerce: optimized checkout:
  • As leading online stores know, sometimes changing a single detail can significantly increase sales.
  • That's why we've decided to update another crucial aspect of any store: the checkout process.
  • We optimized the checkout page in two major ways. First, we redesigned the process to better distinguish the registration, selecting a payment/shipping method, and order confirmation phases. We also overhauled the design and layout of the checkout pages in order to make them even more clear and user-friendly for clients placing orders.
  • Data protection:
  • As we all know by now, the GDPR has set forth requirements for handling data and security, which all websites must follow.
  • We already addressed this topic in previous updates, to make sure that websites created with WebSite X5 comply with current regulations. Now we're going a step further: we strengthened our methods for managing credentials and introduced a new procedure for resetting passwords, both of which improve our level of compliance with the GDPR.

  • The program's interface has been completely restyled: now it's more up-to-date, modern and functional. The new button bar layouts give you more flexibility in using the available space and allow you to reduce the minimum window size. These changes will make your work and project development more pleasant.
  • A new design for the guided tour:
  • The basic idea is the same but we have re-organized the 5-step procedure that WebSite X5 proposes to make it even more logical and functional. For example, you'll find all the features for managing custom code and optimization in the new Statistics, SEO and Code window in Step 4, and you'll also notice that style definition has been moved to Step 1 because it is part of the procedure of defining the graphic template.
  • New template management:
  • The graphic template is no longer saved as an external file but becomes an integral part of the project file. This change will make it easier to move projects to other computers and manage the various resources that are linked to the projects.

  • The styles of the navigation menus, texts, tooltips, showboxes and e-mails have been moved from the Advanced Settings to the properties of the graphic template: now, when you export your template, it will be complete in every part.

  • The styles you define for the cells are useful for creating graphic boxes that make your page layout more interesting: save your styles in the library and use the import/export features to use them again in other projects.
  • Web Fonts:
  • Thanks to the new Web Fonts feature, you are no longer limited to using the same old fonts for the text in your pages. Integrate the Web Fonts, including Google Fonts, in your projects and use them to enhance your pages. You can be sure that they will be displayed in exactly the same way you have chosen.
  • Text Editor:
  • We have developed a new text editor: this new editor guarantees you improved text management, use of Web fonts and a complete range of commands for all your usual formatting work.
  • Content style:
  • If you change the content style, the changes will be automatically applied to all the paragraphs that you have associated with the change. The result will be pages that all look alike, without having to make lots of manual changes.
  • More than 200,000 Free Pictures:
  • Thanks to the collaboration with the Pixabay portal, you can access an archive of over 200,000 free pictures directly from WebSite X5, choose the ones that you prefer and add them to your projects. The imported pictures will be downloaded automatically from the Internet and ready to use.
  • Downloading the Pictures:
  • Your pictures won't all be uploaded at the same time when a page is displayed online: instead, each picture is loaded exactly when it is required. Pages are often quite long and need to be scrolled: having each picture uploaded exactly when it is needed reduces the time required for displaying a page and so improves the visitor's experience when visiting your website.
  • Built-in Graphic Editor:
  • You can now specify the proportions to be maintained when fitting pictures into the available space: you can thus obtain greater precision and quickly achieve a coherent set of pictures.
  • Image Galleries:
  • You can now choose from new styles for buttons and new sets for graphic indicators when defining the galleries with picture scrolling. Use the indicators so that your visitors can easily see how many pictures there are in the gallery and which one is currently on display.
  • Picture Gallery:
  • When displaying thumbnail galleries, you can now choose from new styles, change the thumbnails' outer margins and display their captions in a tooltip.
  • Optimizing Pictures:
  • Specify the Title, Alternative text (ALT Text) and size for pictures inside texts, just as you do for images that you add using the Image object.
  • Form Fields:
  • We have added a new Description field to the e-mail form: use it if you want to add an introductory/explanatory text to create a more complete form.
  • Property Separator:
  • The separator is a useful graphic element that creates a visual division between the various elements of an e-mail form: make the most of the available graphic properties to make your forms even more effective.
  • Scheduling Posts:
  • You can now specify a publication date to indicate when an article on your blog or RSS feed is to be published online. This means you can write articles in advance and schedule when each one is to be published: each article can have its own publishing date.
  • Comments Management:
  • As well as the online control panel provided by WebSite X5, you can also use the comments management system provided by Facebook or Disqus. Comment integration with your website is immediate, and you can make the most of the power of the social networks.
  • Comment Ordering and Numbering:
  • Decide how you want visitors' comments to be displayed: you can decide whether they are to be displayed on each page and whether they must be listed in chronological order, or not.
  • Members' Area:
  • Your blog can be included in a members' area, just like any other website page. Use this feature if you want to create a private discussion group: you can set up registration and specify that people need a login and password to access your blog.
  • Effects:
  • Now, you can apply a transition effect to the pictures and videos in your blog posts: the result will be more attractive!

  • Order Costs:
  • Give your customers a choice of alternative payment methods: you can add an additional cost (fixed or a percentage) to each one.

  • The Buy Now button can be set up so that the chosen product is added directly to the order, without passing through the shopping cart. This procedure makes purchases easier and quicker.
  • The HTML Editor:
  • With the new editor for the HTML Object and in other places where custom code can be added, you can take advantage of the automatic numbering of code lines, syntax highlighting and automatic completion of HTML tags and CSS properties. You'll find that entering code is now much more simple and quicker.

  • Social Network Object:
  • Buttons and boxes for the apps of all the major Social Networks (Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.) can easily be included with the new Social Network Object. It's the best way to share content and increase a website's popularity.

  • The Guestbook has been enhanced with new features and has become an Object. Comment and vote management is available and the Captcha protection is now more efficient.
