Yagi Calculator Changelog

What's new in Yagi Calculator 2.6.4

Feb 18, 2010
  • Fixed spelling typo and added the BC and CD distance for the dipole.

New in Yagi Calculator 2.6.2 (Feb 18, 2010)

  • Printout of boom diameter when using insulated elements showed wrong boom diameter.

New in Yagi Calculator 2.6.1 (Feb 18, 2010)

  • Tidied the yagi details printout - no change to algorithms.

New in Yagi Calculator 2.6.0 (Feb 18, 2010)

  • Added provision for resize control.

New in Yagi Calculator 2.5.3 (Feb 18, 2010)

  • Added provision for choice of folded dipole to be mounted through a metal boom.
  • Also re-arranged the design yagi screen to encourage people to insert the frequency first.

New in Yagi Calculator 2.5.2 (Feb 18, 2010)

  • Added UT141 coax
  • Fixed a printout error in size of boom for square booms
  • Added 'Insert To' being the distance from the tip of an element to the outside of the boom (helps with construction)

New in Yagi Calculator 2.5.0 (Feb 18, 2010)

  • Added facility for using square or flat metal elements.

New in Yagi Calculator 2.4.0 (Feb 18, 2010)

  • Added facility for square or round metal booms.
  • Some tidying up in the design yagi window to ease selection using check boxes.
  • Added some impedance calculations for matching and parallel rods.

New in Yagi Calculator 2.3.3 (Feb 18, 2010)

  • Added capacity to print the balun.
  • Added alternate suggested element sizes, folded dipole spread and dipole gap for frequencies other than 144.
  • Values change on leaving the frequency input box. They may still be editted to suit your materials.

New in Yagi Calculator 2.3.2b (Feb 18, 2010)

  • Minor fixes, including finding the help file and the stacking images. Version c,d,e fixed display issues.

New in Yagi Calculator 2.3.0 (Feb 18, 2010)

  • Includes SWR calculations and coax losses and has been changed to full screen operation.

New in Yagi Calculator 2.1.0 (Feb 18, 2010)

  • A screen that shows the construction of a 4:1 balun.

New in Yagi Calculator 2.0.9 (Feb 18, 2010)

  • Add facility to calculate the length of a 4:1 balun using choice of coax or user input of velocity factor.
  • Further updates to help file.
  • A gif picture of a 4:1 coax balun has been added to the zip file.

New in Yagi Calculator 2.0.8 (Feb 18, 2010)

  • Minor changes include a dBi indication in the design yagi output.
  • Alternative gain algorithms are offered in the gain page.
  • Some mods to the help file.

New in Yagi Calculator 2.0.7 (Feb 18, 2010)

  • Added capacity to calculate the resonant frequency of a measured beam.
  • It assumes some features of the DL6WU design but would give at least a realistic indication of frequency for all yagis.
  • It also has the capacity to convert a beam from one kind of construction to another (e.g. insulated elements style to through boom elements).
  • Yagi Calculator can now read in .YAG files created by YO. There is an ability to convert beams of differing construction to and from insulated construction and use YO to optimise a through boom design by utilising it in insulated form, then bring it back in and reconvert.

New in Yagi Calculator 2.0.6 (Feb 18, 2010)

  • Minor fix in "save YO file" screen (now defaults to current directory and has option to see *.yag or *.*), some more info in the help file especially about the construction and feed of dipoles.
  • Adjusted defaults to press the point that the design is for long yagis.

New in Yagi Calculator 2.0.5 (Feb 18, 2010)

  • Adjustment to stacking and update help file.

New in Yagi Calculator 2.0.4 (Feb 18, 2010)

  • Elements that are insulated from a metal boom but pass through it.
  • In addition the entry box of boom metal has been error protected.
  • Added a method of choosing beam spacing and helpful diagrams to clarify vertical and horizontal spacing.

New in Yagi Calculator 2.0.3 (Feb 18, 2010)

  • Fixed a minor bug in the save and recover data.

New in Yagi Calculator 2.0.2 (Feb 18, 2010)

  • A differentiation between the close box and the 'BACK' button.

New in Yagi Calculator 2.0.1 (Feb 18, 2010)

  • Various adjustments to the yagi design printout screen, less ambiguous and includes boom drilling points rather than boom length.
