Irrespective of the operating system you are using, accessing an online domain from your machine triggers a conversion process where the names become IP addresses. The process is dubbed Domain Name Resolution and can be done via DNS in most cases or via HOSTS file for the TCP/IP protocol.

BlueLife Hosts Editor is a tool specifically designed for the second category and provides a painless way to manage domain names.

Since the tool is portable, simply download and access the corresponding executable to get started. The app comes with a clean interface designed as a list where you can preview all domain names included in the HOSTS file. The interface can also display the information in a text mode that you can copy and send to other, perhaps, more-qualified users for checking.

The list is easy to read and includes IP address, hostname and any related comments. Adding, deleting, blocking or resolving any of them can be done by right clicking, which pops a context menu with all the available functions. After you are done with your modifications, remember to save them via the big green button located in the upper left area, just under the menu.

Although it is not as widely used anymore, the HOSTS file can be best described as a tool that creates a mapping between domain names and IP addresses. If you are using a wrong format inside the file or due to permissions on your system, it may work improperly or not at all for some users.

This is where BlueLife Hosts Editor comes in to let you view and manage all those faulty domain names. Then again, if your connection problems persist, you may need to do further configuration for your system and various cache flushing to fix it.
