Photon

Photon is a compact and lightweight function plotter that will allow users to create their own custom functions and visualize them for enhanced comprehension. People who require a minimalist solution for working with mathematical equations and various functions, might appreciate its features. In addition to the main function visualizer, the application also provides separate modules for editing the function variables via an internal table. Plotting capabilities for linear, quadratic, cubic, exponential, logarithmic and bell curves are also available and users can even solve manually inputted matrices or perform unit conversions.

All the mathematical functions or equations can be easily inserted by using the dedicated entry field and those who require efficiency can also access the predefined function library. There they will find an exhaustive collection of trigonometric, general arithmetic, integer, complex number and vector functions.

Experienced users will benefit from a more advanced module that offers VBScript editing and the application provides an additional bonus through its speech recognition feature. Novice users must be aware that although Photon is user-friendly and may seem basic at first, its features require at least some intermediate knowledge of mathematical functions.

Users who are involved into mathematical work and need a lightweight and efficient solution for defining functions and plotting them can’t go wrong with Photon. However, in our tests, the speech recognition feature did not work and this could be a potential issue for some users.
