Concat

It's not uncommon to face some inconveniences when working with big files. Whether it's sharing or storing it, a large file can be difficult on more than one level. Perhaps you want to put it on a different drive, run an antivirus scan, or upload it to the cloud or share it with someone: the idea is, the bigger the file, the longer such processes would take to complete.

Splitting a big file would thus sound like a good idea. Of course, it depends on the file, but breaking it up into several smaller files can work to good effect: easier sharing, scanning, and depositing. That is what ConCat does: it splits and concatenates files, and is always within a right-click's reach, right from your context menu.

Having a file split and concatenate options right on your context menu sounds awfully convenient, and luckily this is very much the case with this utility. Simply right-click the respective file that you wish to split up, and select the Split File option from the resulting context menu.

A Split menu will then appear, where the user will be able to configure the process. There, you'll need to specify a target size of the smaller files: these range anywhere from 1.4MB, and all the way to 4, 25, and even 50GB. You can opt to split based on common or removable drive sizes to make work easier. The program is even able to create a batch script to rejoin the smaller files, restoring the big file.

Select multiple files, and you'll be able to concatenate them. What this does is it enables you to reconstruct the original file based on the previously split files, so that you can go back to the original anytime you wish.

ConCat is quite the handy utility — the type that is always nice to have on your computer. The convenience it provides is significant, and the way it does so is both practical and unintrusive.
