IMAPSize is a compact and intuitive tool that permits users to retrieve emails via IMAP, as the name implies. It provides fast access to multiple email accounts, along with several powerful tools, such as email management and a backup service.
After a brief and uneventful setup procedure that does not require any special attention from the user, you are greeted by a standard window with a plain and well-defined layout.
You can get started by adding an account to the list, by inputting the account name, user name, password, server, port number, SSL, smart inbox mode and spam handle; you can add as many accounts as you want.
Checking the size of the email accounts is rapidly accomplished with one click of the mouse button. For every folder in the mailbox you can get the message list and view every piece of content.
You can use a search function, create a sub-mailbox, delete or undelete all messages, download them to or upload them from MBOX or EML files, save the message headers, as well as save attachments locally or delete them.
Other options of IMAPSize let you export the size information to a CSV file, backup and restore account data, manage folder subscriptions, use a global search tool, view program activity details, edit spam handles, customize the mailbox tree and message list, set up logging parameters, and more.
IMAPSize is very light on the system resources, using a minimal amount of CPU and memory. It has a good response time and works smoothly, without causing the OS to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. There is also a portable edition available. Although it has not been updated for a pretty long time, IMAPSize offers users a simple solution to getting email information via IMAP.
What's new in IMAPSize 0.3.7:
- Fixed problem with negative folder size display for accounts with >2GB
- Fixed a problem where a certain type of error [Command failed: UID FETCH x (UID)] was being reported in the backup details, but not in the backup summary and was therefore easy to miss. The underlying failed UID fetches are happening intermitently, if you experience this problem please follow the instructions in this post to help resolve the issue.
- Fixed dataDir issue described in this post
- Disabled internal development logging (debug.log). Was enabled by mistake in previous release.
