Math Mechanixs

Our understanding and perception of things, as limited as it may be, helped us shape the world we live in today and the tools we used to build it. As a result, computers can now process in seconds what it can take a normal individual more than a couple of days. Take, for instance, Math Mechanixs, a powerful calculus application specialized in all math areas.

Be prepared to have a little patience when first running the application. Right after launch, you’re bombarded with an abundance of tips and tricks prompts, documentation files, tutorials, and more messages regarding the application’s capabilities and features.

Their intention is pretty solid and aim to help you out, but the overall approach is rather disturbing. Nonetheless, you can close all of them with a few mouse clicks, and start going through the set of features. Even if you choose to ignore all help prompts, accommodation doesn’t take a lot of time.

By default, your canvas is fitted with all the instructions you need to start configuring resources and putting them to good use. Attached you find two panes for Variables and Functions, which you manually need to fill in. These are the resources the application applies when trying to solve your expressions, so make sure to include all it needs.

For expressions and calculus, tools are no less than abundant, and very helpful. Difficult ones are fitted with explanations or examples to get you quickly on your feet. What’s more, major areas are separated, just so you don’t feel overwhelmed again. For instance, calculus, matrices, calculator, and functions library all come in separate windows.

Another area you can explore is represented by graphs. The builder window gives you the possibility to generate 2D and 3D graphs based on a specific set of functions and values you need to define. Multiple visual styles can be selected and changed later on.

Options are not that abundant, but let you pick general details like measurement units, or how some keyboard buttons behave. Writing is easily done, especially because of the helpful dedicated utilities, such as the Fractions feature.

The canvas is conveniently named Math Editor. These have the advantage of running in their own window, letting you simultaneously work on more expressions of different types. Sadly, import and export options are a bit shallow, with little to no support for files other than its own.

Taking everything into consideration, we come to the conclusion that Math Mechanix manages to live up to expectations and provides not only the basic necessities for algebra and geometry, but a lot of advanced, comprehensive utilities that are sure to shed some light on complex expressions, if not solve them entirely.
