Movica

Movica is an easy to use application designed to handle MPG or WMV movie files by providing you with a graphical interface for command line tools such as AsfBin or FLVTool. The program allows you to preview, join and split your clips with minimum effort.

The interface of the application is easy to understand and separates the editing tools in separate tabs. Thus, you need to select the Join tab and load the files that you want to merge in order to get a single video. You can change the order of the clips and configure the tool to delete the input files after the process is finished.

File splitting is a simple task since you only need to load the video and specify the number of output files. The splitter also offers the option to specify the playback time for each output.

Although you cannot split a movie by specifying the desired size, the program estimates the size of the output based on the playback time. This enables you to split large videos into smaller parts in order to be stored on optical discs.

An useful feature of the program is to remove the unwanted parts by using the selection tool from the Player tab. Unlike a simple crop, this feature can also be used for removing multiple segments from the video and save them as separate files.

The same interface can be used for Flash or Real Media movies by installing additional tools such as encoders or video filters.

In our tests, Movica required insignificant resources and successfully performed its tasks. It is a fast tool which takes only a few seconds to split or join the files in order to provide you with the desired video.

If you need to edit WMV or MPG files and prefer the graphical interface over the command line, Movica is a good choice.
