Capture screen activity under custom regions, as well as various image file formats, save to a location of choice, and define the name tags. #Take snapshot #Screencapture #Capture region #Screenshot #Capture #Snapshot
It’s a well-known fact that every keyboard is fitted with a button which captures an image of the screen and sends it to clipboard. However, it becomes pretty difficult to sequentially capture images and save them, but there are various third-party applications like AndySnap which aim to make the process faster and more practical.
Setup keeps you busy for a little while, while also offering to launch the application when done. The window shows up, with several information fields to quickly get you up and running, as well as all possible commands you can use and configure. A navigation panel displays all captured images, and a preview area provides corresponding feedback.
One of its core features is the possibility to capture images from other monitors, and not just the main one. This is simply done by hitting the appropriate capture button wherever the cursor is found, but also make sure that the window of interest is in focus. Pictures are automatically saved under a format of choice, which can be PNG, BMP, JPG, GIF, and TIF.
You’re free to define the save location, which is the application source folder by default. More than that, images can be saved under custom name tags, and there are several dedicated codes you can insert in order to add different sets of details, such as date, time, numbers, and more.
The application relies on the PrintScreen keyboard button as the main trigger, but it can’t be changed. What’s more, you need to define the capture area for every attempt, and there’s no possibility to save presets, or simply capture the entire screen activity at the press of a button.
Taking everything into consideration, we can state that AndySnap is the type of tool to use if you need to capture custom screen regions, regardless of your monitor configuration. You can save pictures under a decent variety of formats, and define the capture region. Sadly, there are no profiles for fixed regions or the entire screen.
