Born on August 9, 1978, in Beaumont, France Audrey Tautou began her acting career in 1999 when she was in the award winning movie Venus Beauty Institute. After this, she was cast in several French movies, such as Pretty Devils, The Libertine, Marry Me, and The Beating of the Butterfly's Wings. In 2001 Tautou was cast as the lead character Amélie Poulain in the hugely successful movie Amelie after which she took a role in L'Auberge Espagnole (The Spanish Inn).
