Sometimes you may notice that certain websites take too long to load while others don’t load at all. One of the factors that can influence this process is how the Domain Name System (DNS) is translated into the correct address so that it is correctly read and understood by other networks.

ChrisPC DNS Switch is a lightweight tool designed to help you change the DNS on your computer without too much hassle. Generally speaking, most users don’t even bother with the DNS settings if the Internet connection is fast and reliable. However, there might be cases when you need to make some changes.

The program comes with a user-friendly interface where you can preview the current DNS settings, namely the primary network adapter along with the preferred and alternative DNS servers. If you want to change the current settings altogether, then you need to make modifications, then you can do so directly by typing in the new addresses in the dedicated fields.

The application packs several presets that you can use, in case you really don’t know any reliable addresses. There are quite a few options here, but you can narrow them down via the Show drop-down menu where you can opt for regular, secure, family safe, anonymous or custom DNS. In case you change your mind, you can simply click the Restore DNS to get back to the original settings.

The DNS servers suggestions included with the app can be further tested via the DNS benchmark option with the Pro version. If you grabbed that version, select the type of servers you prefer to use and then hit the Start Benchmark button to find out the fastest ones.
