Cyber-D’s DriveHide

Cyber-D’s DriveHide is a handy software tool that provides users with a simple function, as it allows them to hide drive letters that they never access. They can declutter the folder structure in Windows Explorer, as well as deny access to these respective drives to unauthorized users.

This is a simple tool that doesn't integrate any configurable options. The installation procedure is rapid and uneventful, after which you can check out the clean and simple interface.

However, make sure to run Cyber-D’s DriveHide with administrative rights, otherwise changes will not be applied to the drives.

The primary panel shows a list of all possible drives, from A to Z; some of them are visible while others are not. You can toggle the hidden/visible status of one or more drive letters, with the simple click of a button.

Modifications are applied to the system as soon as you exit the tool and restart the explorer.exe process; Cyber-D’s DriveHide offers to do this automatically, but we have noticed that it's not able to restart the Explorer process very well. We had to manually do it ourselves afterward in our tests. But the application accomplishes its main goal accurately, rapidly and without errors.

We have not come across any other stability issues in our tests. The app requires a barely noticeable quantity of CPU and system memory. Unfortunately, it doesn't sport a function to restore settings to their default values, or the possibility of protecting the program with a password. Other than that, Cyber-D’s DriveHide should please the entire audience, thanks to its overall simplicity.
