Digital Patrol

Digital Patrol is a software program that helps you protect your PC from all known types of Trojan programs, Internet worms, script viruses and other harmful malware.

The Digital Patrol’s interface is minimal and, in the same time, highly intuitive. In order to use this app at its full potential, you do not need to have extensive knowledge of anything regarding IT and you do not need to read extensive tutorials beforehand.

On the left side of the main window you will find five buttons that will help you do everything you need to (Start, Pause, Stop, Help and Exit), while on the right side, you can select all the files, folders and drives that you want to scan. After you hit the Start button, the right side of the main screen will change, showing you statistics regarding your scan (how many files have been scanned, infected, suspicious, etc.) and a progression bar.

Do not let the simple design fool you, as the program is very powerful. Digital Patrol is able to eliminate over 90 million different types of malicious software, including Trojans, spyware (programs that collect personal and financial information from computers, without permission), viruses, root kits, worms, malicious Java scripts and ActiveX controls.

A really nice thing that this program has to offer is represented by the way it was built. Besides looking for the viruses and Trojans it already knows, the app also looks at the way programs behave in order to try and figure out if they contain malicious code or not. This type of scanning is called heuristic and it means that it is based on experience.

To sum up, Digital Patrol is an excellent way of detecting malware such as Trojans, spyware and worms and deleting them from your computer.
