Earth3D Viewer accurately renders the surface of Earth using data from the GLOBE project. The planet is rendered using up to 1.8 Million polygons, the colours represent altitude.
In Earth3D Viewer the planet's rotation is controllable via the mouse and the arrow keys allow you to zoom in and out.
To make the topology stand out more you can increase the vertical component of the normal vector. The default multiplier is 4. You can increase or decrease this by using the keys '[' and ']'.There is a few seconds delay while the lighting is recalculated.
