IM+

There are numerous instant messaging applications out there that compete to meet the needs and requirement of the users. Whether you prefer one or another, installing each on your computer takes time. IM+ is designed to solve this issue, since it provides you with fast access to multiple IM programs and social network services, thus significantly enhancing the chat experience.

IM+ supports some of the most popular communication platforms, such as AIM, MSN, Facebook, GTalk, Jabber, Yahoo!, ICQ, MySpace and Skype. The main interface includes shortcuts for each of the above-mentioned services, allowing you to login to your account and start chatting.

After logging in to the desired messenger account, you can view the standard interface of a chat desktop client, comprising the contact list for viewing the online and offline users, the current status message and the user avatar. You can easily rename, delete or add new contacts to your list and the 'Search' function enables you to quickly find the user you want to talk to.

You can initiate a private conversation by simply double clicking on the desired contact. The chat window is similar to that of any instant messaging application, enabling you to type text messages, send files to your interlocutor (unfortunately, drag and drop is not supported) or invite another user to join the conversation. Optionally, you can set the program to store the conversation history.

Just like in any other similar program, IM+ enables you to open multiple conversation windows simultaneously and talk to more than one friend at the same time. However, there are standard features of IM clients that are not available within IM+, such as video calls or photo sharing.

The application can be set to notify you (using pop-up windows, sounds or both) when a new message is received and block all the incoming messages from people who are not in your list.

One drawback is that the program does not allow you to login to multiple accounts at the same time. Even so, it still is easier to logout from one account and quickly login to another, without having to open a different application.

To conclude with, IM+ enables you to fully enjoy the advantages of multiple messaging clients altogether. Although it does not include all the features that the included communication tools come with, it remains a faster method for accessing your accounts and keep in touch with friends and acquaintances.
