NoDupe

NoDupe is an easy to use yet effective duplicate finder that scans a user-defined folder and allows you to remove duplicate files.

NoDupe is much easier to use than many other similar apps because it uses a well-organized GUI, a tabbed layout and intuitive options, all of them grouped in the main screen.

Setting up the duplicate finding process is as easy as pie because the predefined profiles let you search for albums, folders, large files and music, but you’re obviously also allowed to customize each of them.

For example, NoDupe can filter the results by file size, match directories, ignore meta information in music files and look only for some user-defined extensions.

Once the process comes to an end, NoDupe displays the duplicate files in a separate tab, along with size, file name, path, extension and date modified. You can either delete the selected items or export them to CSV.

NoDupe doesn’t need too much time to scan the system for duplicates, but this of course also depends on user settings. Scanning the entire system takes much more time than a single folder, but a moderate amount of hardware resources is always being used in the process.

To sum up, NoDupe makes for a decent duplicate finder that doesn’t assault users with unnecessary features. It has a well thought out GUI and very intuitive options. A help section is available too, but an Internet connection is needed because the manual is published on the official website of the developer.
