A small tool that checks whether your disks are configured properly.. #Check disk #CPU load #CPU speed #Sequential #Disk #Check
Quick Bench is a straightforward piece of software developed to get the average sequential read speed and CPU load of your disks, in order to find out if the DMA (Direct Memory Access) is working properly.
The installation procedure is quick and does not require any special attention from the user. Once it finishes, you can check out the standard window with the plain layout, representing Quick Bench's interface.
All you have to do is select the disk from a drop-down menu, and initialize the procedure with the simple click of a button. Quick Bench monitors the average sequential read and shows the current speed, CPU and time.
Unfortunately, the tool does not give you the possibility of recording this activity to a log file (e.g. TXT, HTML), in order to further analyze it. There are no configuration settings available through this app.
Quick Bench requires a very low quantity of CPU and system memory, has a good response time and works smoothly, without making the operating system hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. However, the program has not been updated for a very long time. Nevertheless, Quick Bench can be handled by all types of users, regardless of their skill level.
