SequoiaView

SequoiaView is an application developed to offer you a different way of viewing how different folders occupy space on your hard drive and just how much of it.

The application is able to display the content of an entire hard drive or a complex folder using the tree-maps method. This way you can have a global view and see how the hard drive files are organised and which take up the most space.

SequoiaView displays a comprehensive interface that focuses on strictly presenting the folder structures. They are displayed as part of a large matrix with unequal elements. The larger the thumbnail, the more space it occupies on your hard drive. Since the application is a viewer, you can access any of the folders by double clicking on its corresponding square. If it contains subfolders, then they are also displayed in the same matricial form.

This is a great way to get a sense of proportion of folders. You can view them in a standard tree-map, cushion and squarified cushion modes. Since using this method for viewing folders can lead to overcrowding very fast, you can choose whether you want to view or hide the system files. Moreover, you are able to select what the application highlights, only files, files and directories or files and entire paths.

Apart from getting a visual clue of how big a given file or folder is, SequoiaView also displays detailed information about the highlighted item. Filters are provided as well. You can narrow down the number of displayed folders by including or excluding certain ones, as well as by showing only folders that have a predefined size on disk or are created after a certain date and time.

SequoiaView is a very good solution for figuring out how space is allocated and used in large drives, making it easier for you to organize your data.
