System Information Viewer is a compact software utility that can be used to find out the PC's hardware configuration in detail when it comes to the processor, memory, graphics card, and other components. It is portable and features numerous modules.
You can extract the program files to a custom directory on the hard disk and immediately launch the executable file, as well as save System Information Viewer to a USB flash disk or other removable storage unit, in order to run it on any PC to study its characteristics.
Worth mentioning is that the tool does not modify Windows registry settings or create extra files on the disk, thus leaving no traces behind after its removal.
The GUI is represented by a regular window that shows component-related information, as well as a system tray icon which System Information Viewer creates at startup and where it gets minimized; it provides quick access to each module and various settings.
System Information Viewer shows the current resources usage, physical memory, paging file and file cache sizes, CPU and GPU utilization, along with other details in the summary section. You may get a closer look at the all drivers installed, DNS names, DLLs and fonts, sensor debugging, PCI devices, IP address, SPD data, disk mapping, network adapters, and many other areas.
Information can be copied to the Clipboard as text, or the current panel can be grabbed and copied as a bitmap picture. It is possible to change the temp measurement unit, save data to file, change font types and colors, quickly access various Windows utilities from the tray icon, and so on.
System Information Viewer certainly has a lot to offer, provided that users take plenty of time to explore its features. As far as performance goes, it runs on low CPU and RAM, so it does not put a strain on resources. It worked well in our evaluation without hanging, crashing or popping up errors.
System Information Viewer is one of the most complete system information utilities we've seen. Needless to say, power PC users may take their time and research extensive data in regard to their machines' abilities.
