Monitor and adjust the three types of CPU throttling specific to many laptops and test your processor's performance using this utility. #CPU throttle #Benchmark CPU #CPU benchmark #CPU #Benchmark #Modulation
If you are a laptop user, you might understand that your device can be subjected to a series of events that might lead to system-wide slowdowns, chokes, spikes, freezes, you name it.
ThrottleStop is one of the applications that can help you keep track of the three main types of CPU throttling that are present on various laptop models and also correct them without significant efforts.
Most laptop computers feature multiplier reductions and clock modulation in order to reduce their power consumption. However, it is known that lowering the power consumption also takes a toll on its overall performance.
As you launch the application, you'll notice that on the left side of the main window there's a series of controls that were designed to help you bypass CPU throttling, while on the right-side of the screen you'll be able to see the current state of each of your CPU's threads.
From the main window of the application, you can enable and configure Clock Modulation, Chipset Clock Modulation, Set Multiplier and also disable Turbo mode, stop the monitoring altogether and access more in-depth data.
For more advanced parameters, you can access the app's "Options" window and create or edit profiles, change the location of the log folder, enable and customize hotkeys choose between a series of GPU models, configure the DC exit time and more.
It is strongly recommended that whenever you run ThrottleStop and use it, you should monitor the power consumption at the wall by using an electricity-usage monitor in order to make sure you don't exceed the capabilities of your power adapter.
More so, since the application is designed for advanced computer users, you need to be very cautious about any modification you bring to your laptop, since bypassing the default CPU throttling schemes can result in permanent damage to your computer, your power adapter, or both.
If you've had enough of your laptop's performance drops and want to try a more hands-on approach in order to fix things, you can turn to ThrottleStop, since it provides you with everything you need to restore your computer to its former glory.
