Images are used to enhance nearly every visual aspect of most virtual or palpable products. Even web pages you visit are packed with image representations of content or simply to give it a specific theme. In this regard, ThumbHTML comes with a wide set of tools with which to turn your selection of photos into thumbnails and generate a HTML library.
Your workspace is pretty compact and packed with an abundance of settings you can configure. However, the clever arrangement of features and tab implementation that provides both quick access and more comfort, get you up and running in a jiffy.
Always accompanying you, a file browser is used in order to specify the target path to gather images from. Luckily, the application gather all images from folders you go through, so you don't need to store all of them in one directory. Moreover, all of them are enlisted so you can select the ones you want and don't want to include. For better identification, you can filter and sort them according to several criteria.
You get to spend most of your time adjusting a rich set of customization options. These are dedicated to thumbnails, styles, HTML and slideshow, each with sliders, text fields, and check boxes that in the end provide a unique result.
The application is able to provide two types of output, namely to generate a HTML page that containing your selection of images, or their corresponding thumbnails. The latter counterpart gives you the possibility to set custom naming options, output file format, which can be JPG, PNG or BMP, whether or not to drop shadow, as well as a few more settings regarding color correction.
Further snooping through option tabs, you notice the rest are mostly dedicated to web page customization. There are several predefined templates you can choose as a layout for your page, or take the time to manually define new values, but some degree of programming knowledge is required.
Technical details let you pick the output file extension, such as several HTML types or PHP, layout to use, the number of pictures to display per page, link handling and more. You can even configure how the slideshow implementation to look and when to trigger.
By default, the application creates all output types in the same directory as your target files, but you can configure both the library and output path. Moreover, you can process images for more safety by applying a watermark that can be text enhanced by its font and style values you determine.
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that ThumbHTML is a small but powerful application that is capable of processing multiple images at a time to generate a HTML library you can quickly bind to your web page. The overall process is easy to learn and go through, even though the application is packed with an abundance of technical and visual customization options.
