If you’re regularly visiting friends, family or even some cafés, then chances are that you are connected to their wireless network.
Then again, there are cases when you may need to re-enter the password due to various reasons, including changes in the network configuration, password expiry or intermittent connection issues.
WirelessKeyView is a lightweight application that enables you to view all wireless network security keys and passwords stored on your computer.
The application doesn’t require installation and is as simple as it gets. Once you launch the tool, it quickly scans your device and provides a list with all the wireless passwords that are previously stored on your device.
The list is quite detailed and includes information such as network name, key type, key in ASCII and HEX, adapter name and GUID, authentication, encryption, connection type, the location of the file on your local drives and the date it was last modified.
As previously mentioned, the idea behind the tool is not to hack into someone’s computer remote and get their network password. It server a simple purpose, namely to help you retrieve a list of Wi-Fi passwords that used before and forgot.
It is worth mentioning that the program allows you to export the list of keys to various formats, including HTML, plain text and XML.
If you happen to change your PC and want to make sure you get as little complications as possible when visiting various locations with it, you can import the password to your new PC.
Considering that Wi-Fi networks seem to weave seamlessly through our daily lives, remembering each password is not really a viable option. If you find yourself staring at your device trying to remember the password for various networks, then perhaps you can consider giving WirelessKeyView a try.
