Whenever you think of Holland, two things may cross your mind: tulips, and the majestic windmills. Dutch Windmills 3D Screensaver is an app that will bring the charm of one of Holland's most celebrated symbols to your monitor.

The graphics of this app can only be described as amazing. The 3D rendered models are great, to polygon count is high, the textures show no signs of pixelation, water physics and reflections are realistic and the world it presents is massive.  Besides the "how" they made it, "what" they made is also something worth talking about. The app presents a typical Dutch village, and everything is made to make you believe you are looking at a miniature world.  The village has several houses, the residents are going about their everyday life working, walking from one house to another, talking to each other etc. The wildlife is also minding its business eating and interacting.  The most significant advantage that this app has is the attention it pays to the details, for example how the roosters have their distinct walking animation as opposed to the hens, or how the tree branches sway under the blowing winds.

Considering all the graphical features it has, it is understandable if the app doesn't run smoothly on older systems. This was noticed particularly when the app ran in animated wallpaper mode, as it had reduced FPS and cause some foreground apps to have slower response times. Fortunately, many features can be adjusted or disabled to ensure that you have the best experience possible. For example, you can change the graphics quality, sounds, screen resolution and aspect ratio. The sound and music can be disabled, and you can even listen to music from your library.
